My Experiences With Insomnia

I was scripted trazadone when i got clean of opiates the doc said it will help with your depression and anxiety, which often comes after detoxing from opis.

And it has a sedating effect to help you sleep, well I never got any sleep at night but during the day I couldn't keep my eyes open!!

Long story short I got rid of the trazadone as my job involves driving daily (not good when you can barely open your eyes!)and bought some diazapam and mogadon to help me get past the worst of the amnesia.I only used them for a month and only when required.

Nowadays I have a few treats of z@n@x or di@z but I keep my usage infrequent so that when u do have a blowout there is no tolerance issues

As woolius says a big blunt does the trick also mmmm.Natures sleeping herb works for me!!!

Trazadome always helped me.

But can't find a doctor to script it.

Go figure. My luck!!

Are you in the uk or usa "True_love?.Just there have been a couple of times the doc has tried to give me anti - depressants which are trazadone, mollypaxin and martizapien but im in the uk and I don't think I actually have depression in the "classic" sense?.

Sometimes here in the uk if you have had problems with opiates in particular they think you are trying to get a script for benzos if you sat you are struggling with sleep and will throw many types of anti - depressants/ssris....

I thought that might be the case True_Love in GB the docs will quite happily script anti - depressants just don't ask for any benzoes or strong pks(not that we have many to choose from here!).

Trazodone is sedating but quetiapine is much better, in my opinion, in terms of effect and side-effects. Diazepam is probably the safest benzo and a lot safer than Z drugs. Zopiclone is a favorite among UK psychs but it's slowly becoming apparent that Z drugs are not safer than benzos.

Are you kidding True? Traz is an anti D almost impossible to abuse. I ask my Doc and therapist and both agreed it could help with sleep. Neither had a problem with me taking it.

Your doctor is still pissed about the NCAA BB. Wait till football seasons starts and ask again.

Yeah, what doc would have a problem with trazodone? Not that it's without risks/side-effects, but they seem to have no problems unless it's benzos/controlled stuff IME. And some of them hand the ADs out like candy, they just don't seem to care anymore. But you ask for a few di@z to help your anxiety and an alarm goes off in their head.

My ex was exactly the same cat, when I moved in I hated trying to get to sleep with the tv on I'd wait till I thought she was asleep and hit the remote only for her to say  I was listening to that!

She was/is on 2×7.5mg zopiclone (for 12yrs)a night and took them with mirtazapine 40mg sublingual and sometimes still got the night terrors!!

I have been having a lot of trouble sleeping for almost 15 years now. It was a little better in the past years and months, but I still have the occasional days when I don't get enough sleep or any sleep, and at times I got 3 or 4 days without sleeping at which point I feel completely withdrawn and unable to do anything. I've tried different medications but none of them have work too well.Ambient hasn't worked, and I've taken Xanax and Clonazepam at different points, and while they were effective early on, they stopped working pretty quickly. I was doing better when I started going to the gym and was losing some weight, but recently, like about a month and a half ago I stopped going to the gym and now my insomnia is starting to come back. I will try to go to the gym tomorrow. I think exercise helps but sometimes it's hard to motivated yourself to go there especially if you have a job and are too tired after you work to go to the gym.

The last time I asked my doctor to give me something to help me sleep (just for a week) or so he printed out a sheet of exercises to do before bedtime!.

That's how much the docs here in the uk hate to script  benzoes  even for a really short period!.No much wonder we are reliant on  the sources here its just a pitty that in the eyes of the law we are importing drugs,we know what works for us and if used responsibly they are a godsend to many of us.Any way rant over?

Bliss....

I was attacked by some crazy with a knife. Completely unprovoked. Got a very lazy (uk) GP to prescribe me temazepam & lorazepam. I'd always had trouble with insomnia- this is 6 a.m. GMT. Anyway had this prescription for years, gave up on the lorazepam and took 1 temazepam for about 7 years. The Dr was suspended (the found child porn on his computer- later found innocent)   and the Head of the surgery told me he didn't know how to withdraw me from temazepam and gave me 8. val 5s. luckily I had an old school private Dr who prescribed it with no problems. and a lot of money. Then this stopped and have been reliant on illegal vals with some success and some failure. This site is a godsend. Thanks to all who contribute. All i want to do is sleep at night. I've given up alcohol- which is hopeless as a sleep aid unless mixed with some other meds.

NB the Old School Doc prescribed val 5s not Temazepam which has a higher schedule and is practically impossible to get now

Ken, I feel the exact same way...I miss good, all natural sleep...drug induced sleep jus isn't the same, is it!?!  Valerie does help me though, she's a ten too!!!  Jus miss the days when all I had to do was lay down at night...most sleep drugs make my RLS even worse, like Trazadone, I hate the RLS even worse than the insomnia!!!

Feel you guys..

I've always been a super light sleeper but recently in the last few years it started getting really bad and I was beginning to suffer mentally and emotionally from lack of sleep. I tried some natural remedies and melatonin and nothing really helped too much. Finally I was got a prescription for medical marijuana (it is legal wher I am) and it has helped me like nothing else.

Every once in a while I still take a benzo when it is really bad, but the medical marijuana really solved it for most of the time. However, I DO still miss natural sleep since it feels different and I wake up feeling more rested when I am lucky enough to have one of those nights.

  3. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  4. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.

  11. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  12. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  13. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  14. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  16. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
  17. Alkazar @ Alkazar: It is INSANE how doctors treat tax paying hard working people like criminals when they ask for opioids. This world just keeps getting more and more backwards. But thanks to this site to be able to find people to help when no one in the medical world will.
  18. L @ Layne_Cobain: Hang in there @Turbo259 life can be such a Fkn sludge prayers and good vibes to you and your loved ones 🙏 ❤️
