For the life of me, I can't recall them covering that strategy in business school. "Ok, so you advertise a product, accept an order and payment, then tell the customer you don't really have it, but of they'd like to pay again, maybe you'll send them something else they really didn't want in the first place".

Sure, that'll work. Pitiful that this kind of thing goes on absolutely unabated. Really highlights the importance of a site like this that makes timely, accurate vendor information available.
