Need help breaking Straight Talk phone

Ok folks, I thought I would pull an okie dokie, on the big boys...... Figured I would buy a decent phone through Straight Talk, and then go thru Qlink and have and get a decent sim and service.  No dice.  Does anyone here know how to break the phone to accept the new sim without paying for 12 months?
