Nervous about lower schedules

As I mentioned in my introduction, not that I'm narcissistic enough to believe everybody cared to read my introduction, I was a part of this scene for many years over a decade ago. In all my years I never made the jump past sched 4. Reading some of the reviews here on products that I very much miss has got me thinking about making the plunge. Is my anxiety misplaced? Is a personal amount of sched 3 or even 2 going to amount anything more the standard LL if nabbed? I am certainly no stranger to the LL. And if God forbid the worst did happen am I looking at much more of a serious situation?
