No more password security in UK

That's why I think it's better to hide in plain sight. Though, don't forget, this is aimed more at national security, our terrorism threat level is currently sitting at "severe" which means a terrorist related  attack is highly likely, this is the second highest level, under "critical" where an attack is deemed imminent. In any case, with the dozens of potential terrorist attacks foiled by British intelligence in the past 10 years, which don't get much press, I still feel relatively safe. It isn't new, we have had Irish Republican terrorist activity since the early 70's, which has now faded though still a minor threat in comparison . In the UK, many of us are used to this, and are observant, diligent and proactive in noticing behaviours, the intelligence services here also share information with each other which helps immensely.

An EU court will hopefully tilt that law. In another European country, a court recently ruled that anyone who writes a blog on the internet needs to be treated like a journalist. Journalists can't be asked to reveal their informants an police may not confiscate their mobile phones or demand insight into their email accounts. The only thing that worries me, is that more and more data retention laws and the likes are about to come. Most of these will sure be tilt, but it often takes years for an EU court to overrule national laws... :-(
