Hi everyone,

I would like to share an advice I recently got from my new pharmacist ... and also to ask if anyone here has experiences with this new treatment.

Hope there is someone who will be able to share some experiences /default_smile.png

I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory disorder (spine) something like 4 years ago.

The list of medication I have taken since seams endless and I had to change a lot due to undesired side effects ...

There just doesn't seam to be the right thing for me and only just a few days ago my pharmacist advised me to try olibanum (frankincense) in addition to the pain meds I am taking every day.

To be honest, I would be happy to reduce my intake of strong medication but at the same time I doubt that a natural substance like this would all of a sudden turn out the answer to all of my prayers.

Apparently olibanum's been used for a very long time in naturopathy as well as in foreign cultures. However, modern medicine seams to only just have it discoverd and I am a bit hesitant.

Is there somebody who has tried it before and could give me some insight?

I'd appreciate any help from you!

Well, I was hoping to find others here who would be able to share their experiences. Unfortunately there seams to be nobody who has tried this before …

I gave it a shot and have been taking Boswellia, which is an extract from Indian Frankincense. The effect is actually surprising as it works for me as a mild pain killer and my IF rates are better. I am not saying that it is a miracle cure, certainly not, but it sure helps a lot better than I have expected.

For peaks on rough days I still have to take the strong stuff and I honestly doubt that this will ever change. Yet, I was able to reduce my intake and sometimes all I need to get through the night is that one capsule of Boswellia. I personally think it is pretty cool!

As I am not sure, if it is a good idea to post a link in here, I just suggest looking up “Boswellia extract†on Wikipedia, for instance. Also Google will give you quite some interesting results.

Maybe there is someone who would be interested to also try /default_wink.png
