I take pain meds for back issues and have for a few years now. My tolerance got pretty high and I was taking more and more. Sadly, this really upset my wife who is an anti medication lunatic. Love everything about her accept that. Anyway, I keep my doses lower now but enough to give me pain relief. The problem is that my wife will look at me and tell me that I am high even though I have zero symptoms of being high other than my pin point eyes that come with taking ops. I am absolutely not high in any pleasurable way what so ever but there is no preventing the op eye that I know of. Does anyone have any idea of how to prevent this so my wife will stop giving me hell all the time? I have googled and googled and it appears there is no solution but maybe someone here knows. Any ideas?

how strange, I hear about what your talking about but i dont get it....i always wonder if its because im on a low dose or only take it once or twice a day if that..as i cannot afford finacially to take it more..

it will be interesting to hear what others have to say on this..

@davinciphoto I don't think there's much you can do about your eyes. On certain people, it's very noticeable. Me, nobody notices, but my friend has big, beautiful eyes; as soon as she takes a vike, you can tell.

Maybe the answer is to make her understand it's strictly a physical reaction and has nothing to do with feeling "high". Why would she want you to be in pain? It's difficult to explain to people who have never experienced it, but not impossible. You have to try and get through to her.

It's not your eyes that's giving you away my friend. Women have some type of special powers, trust me on this one.

I can get within five feet of a X@nax and my woman can tell. /default_huh.png  I HATE THAT SHIT!!  Drives me insane, can't win for losing!

It don't have anything to do with my eyes. I just tell her to chill out, and leave me alone about it. I ask her if she wants me to live miserable, or happy and comfortable. That usually ends things right there. I'm prescribed pain meds for a messed up back from doing manual labor. (At least that's what I think caused my back pain). I'm not prescribed X@nax, but I am prescribed three 1mg Kpins per day. She can tell when I'm taking Kpins as well. DAMMIT MAN!!! CAN'T WIN FOR LOSING I TELL YOU!!!!

I just don't understand anyone arguing with you about what a doctor is giving you. Ask her if she is interested in going back to school, tell her as best you can tell doctors make a killing..lol

I know what you are dealing with, and hiding it, you can forget. You're going to have to win her over to your side on this one. Heck, tell her it's a proven scientific fact that men grow a larger appendage when taking pain meds. <shrugs> I don't know bro, but I know where you are coming from, because I live it, and it's a rough road.

There you go my friend. Your answer coming straight from a female. You'll have to win her over on this one, you will NOT hide it!

My boyfriend takes on average 4-5 milligrams of @lpraz. His whole face relaxes. His posture, his speech cadence. He is much more tolerant.

Yea i get this all the time  when i  take benzos especially clonazapam, and the rc clonozolam. My dad can tell the next  day the first look he gives me. I think its a body language thing even though we don't feel intoxicated our body still kinda is and the way we move walk hold our hands, talk is some kind of give away, to the hawks eyes of those who care about us most. As for having pinned eyes yea you could try those expensive eye drops Rohto i use the green ones slightly minty but kill the stoned eye look (weed). May be they will help with pinned pupils. Maybe ask some one who does a lot of stimulants those folk always have huge pupils. And lastly you could keep it super cool and where sunglasses everywhere.

Peace hope your wife understands.

I have always been lucky nobody seems to notice if i take benzo or pain pills for that matter. i think pain medication has the opposite side effect for me because the only way they could possibly tell is I am super energized cleaning doing laundry fixing things. lol... I never was the type like my EX who would nod out all the time. strange how things effect people differently.

Peace

Thanks everyone. I figured there is nothing that could be done other than taking the eye drops eye doctors use to get your pupils to dilate. The problem there is that you cant buy that stuff over the counter and the result is extreme. So instead of trying to hide tiny pupils I look like a crazy person with gigantic pupils. I have very light blue eyes so there is ZERO possibility for me to hide it. She always knows. The reason she is against pain meds is because she has a warped thought process that humans can heal their pain simply with natural herbs and positive thinking. I just do not understand that thought process at all. I love her 99.9999% but that.00001% cannot stand the fact she is anti medication. She has kidney disease and will NOT take anything to help her with her pain or to prolong her lifespan due to the same way of thinking. Its just something I will never be able to change her mind of.

To me, the only side effect I get from taking my meds is that when we are intimate with one another, I have a very hard time finishing. I have absolutely no idea why that is a problem for her because she gets the greatest benefit from that side effect. Who knows.....

I did start lowering my dosage and the eyes are not as prominent. I guess the more medication you take the more impact it has on your pupils. The meds also make me very talkative and in a very good mood. I have zero idea why this is a bad thing but she mentions that as well as a side effect. As of today I just ignore her when she mentions it. I say "Sorry Love, if its not making me a bad person or causing problems in my life then please just leave me alone about it. She has started to stop saying anything so I hope it will just be a concept she eventually fully accepts.

Good luck to everyone.

Just like she's entitled to treat her health problems as she wishes, so are you.

Really as simple as that. Good luck to you.

in  males opiates will do that especially at high doses. I know i cannot ejaculate while on opiates of any kinda at at reasonable dose and that's like even on  bupernorphine. Still have libido and erectile function but no finish. blame god.

Opiates like hydro and oxy cause pupil constriction. It actually makes your eyes look kindof pretty. But can definitely give you away if your girlfriend or whoever knows how to recognize it. Stress and anxiety cause pupil dilation, opiates give you the exact opposite feeling, so they have the opposite effect on your pupils. Pretty cool huh?

  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  3. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.
  4. ontovzik @ ontovzik: He peed it in the snow in my backyard.
  5. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  6. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote

  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
