In the midst of my inept, prejudiced new doctor (right out of school) telling me he "didn't believe in narcotics" and screwing up meds I'd been on for over 6 yrs......he did one thing that helped.

He prescribed a Ketamine compound with several ingredients to massage into my skin wherever I was hurting.  To my complete amazement, this compound did help the pain, not eliminate, but helped.

The name & link below are to the Pain Management Company that creates these cremes, etc. which require a doctor's signed prescription.  They will work with your doctor anywhere in USA, I am told.

Your doctor faxes them a prescription for the medicated creme and this company mails the creme directly to your door within a few days (depending on how far it has to go).

Another member asked me about this and I thought perhaps it might help others also.

Expensive - probably only want to try this if you have insurance.   I can give the "name" of the creme to anyone who wants to ask their doctor to try it (it's just list of ingredients/dosages so I'm guessing there are different formulas your doctor could discuss with them.)

PM me if you want the name of my creme or just work with your doctor & Focused Pain Relief to get best compound mix for you.

Hope this helps someone, like it did me.

Hi Denise,

That's good to know.

I have though about trying the MMJ creams that are supposed to do similar things, you rub it on the pain spots like the cream you describe.

Have you ever tried any of the MMJ creams?

Your DR story is kind of funny, that it actually helped. I went to a pain Dr about a year ago mostly to just get a prescription and she said she had an electro thingy ma-bob that would help and she wanted to do it right then. I was very skeptical and really just wanted the scrip but went ahead and had the treatment. To my surprise it worked really well.

If you are talking about the new "Light Therapy" (using laser to penetrate into body and aid healing with light) -  Yes, I believe it works.

My Physical Therapy had one of the machines for just a week, to try it out.   I received 3 treatments with it, thinking it was just more bs - but then I could notice a difference in my pain and movement easier in my shoulder.

Believe Light Therapy could have something worthwhile to offer, can't swear to it since I only received 3 treatments.  Wish they'd had machine longer than one week.

Or are you speaking of a TENS unit (attached to you and stimulates nerves to block the pain signals to your brain) ?

My tens unit seems like a waste of $1000.00 as well. However, some people say that they do in fact help them. I just don't happen to be one of them.

  12. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 lol I am actually surprised it is a real ID. I needed those documents because my license had been expired for over a year and I had to start all over. Nothing was in the system. It was a huge mess. I had no clue I was signing up for Real ID. They asked me for the exact same documents that I needed for a State ID Card.

  17. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda I was under the impression that you'd need all of the points to get a real ID . I'd check it's validity if you're gonna fly domestic any time soon, just to make sure. Not to tell you what to do, sorry -
  18. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 In my state to get a Real ID, I need SS card, Birth Certificate and two proofs of residency. Which I am positive I had to provide to get a new ID when it had been expired.
  19. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @Turbo259 advertising - putting in writing for example an negative action to show they are guilty prior to taking action.
  20. B @ bigblueallda: I haven't flown in an airplane in 20 years lol. Can't recall the last government building I have been in either. According to the symbol it tells me I should have on my ID to make it a Real ID I do have one in my state
