In the midst of my inept, prejudiced new doctor (right out of school) telling me he "didn't believe in narcotics" and screwing up meds I'd been on for over 6 yrs......he did one thing that helped.

He prescribed a Ketamine compound with several ingredients to massage into my skin wherever I was hurting.  To my complete amazement, this compound did help the pain, not eliminate, but helped.

The name & link below are to the Pain Management Company that creates these cremes, etc. which require a doctor's signed prescription.  They will work with your doctor anywhere in USA, I am told.

Your doctor faxes them a prescription for the medicated creme and this company mails the creme directly to your door within a few days (depending on how far it has to go).

Another member asked me about this and I thought perhaps it might help others also.

Expensive - probably only want to try this if you have insurance.   I can give the "name" of the creme to anyone who wants to ask their doctor to try it (it's just list of ingredients/dosages so I'm guessing there are different formulas your doctor could discuss with them.)

PM me if you want the name of my creme or just work with your doctor & Focused Pain Relief to get best compound mix for you.

Hope this helps someone, like it did me.

Hi Denise,

That's good to know.

I have though about trying the MMJ creams that are supposed to do similar things, you rub it on the pain spots like the cream you describe.

Have you ever tried any of the MMJ creams?

Your DR story is kind of funny, that it actually helped. I went to a pain Dr about a year ago mostly to just get a prescription and she said she had an electro thingy ma-bob that would help and she wanted to do it right then. I was very skeptical and really just wanted the scrip but went ahead and had the treatment. To my surprise it worked really well.

If you are talking about the new "Light Therapy" (using laser to penetrate into body and aid healing with light) -  Yes, I believe it works.

My Physical Therapy had one of the machines for just a week, to try it out.   I received 3 treatments with it, thinking it was just more bs - but then I could notice a difference in my pain and movement easier in my shoulder.

Believe Light Therapy could have something worthwhile to offer, can't swear to it since I only received 3 treatments.  Wish they'd had machine longer than one week.

Or are you speaking of a TENS unit (attached to you and stimulates nerves to block the pain signals to your brain) ?

My tens unit seems like a waste of $1000.00 as well. However, some people say that they do in fact help them. I just don't happen to be one of them.

  11. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: @Hankhill and everone else. Love the sports talk. Yeah Ray Lewis is GOAT at MLB in my opinion. Both him and Ed Reed are fist ballot hall of famers. But yeah, that last game was painful.
  12. Hankhill @ Hankhill: ravens used to be my favorite team and I still love em, but since I smoved havent watched a game since the superbowl 2013. Ray lewis was a goat fr in my opinion
  13. M @ MCAJB6122: Sorry tiquan I know that must've been frustrating for you but I personally really enjoyed the game 😊
  14. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: @Layne_Cobain Honestly it is one of the worst ravens game I've watched since Lamar started in 2018, taking over for Flacco. Everything that could go wrong on offense did. We were moving the ball, but turning it over on flukey plays.
  15. L @ Layne_Cobain: @tiquanunderwood couldnt believe that bro I knew they’d be better with burrow back but you guys just kept shooting yourselves in the foot 5 turnovers 😬 but you still very alive after that win streak
  16. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: Oof that was rough. Know how you feel this past Monday @Layne_Cobain
  17. M @ MCAJB6122: Great games earlier. Not my preferred outcomes but love when primetime games are close
