Nearly everyone is too acidic (lower PH). Its the bodybuilding diet. There are pretty simple corrections. Also oral steroids make you acidic. I developed reflux and had to take prevacid for the tail end of prep. Dont let it get to that point 

ADD: higher(balanced, alkaline) PH will also enhance % of all orals and supps you take that you absorb due to the low PH not destroying a portion. This is why sodium bicarb (patented i believe for this purpose) was used in many supps for delivery/absorption purposes since it balances PH

Plants win again...alkaline.

Most will reference spicy foods for GERD, but might be surprised fatty foods are most associated with GERD; fiber-rich fods, the least. Fat is most abundant in animal products (meat, shell/fish, dairy, eggs), whereas only plants provide fiber.

That said, nothing wrong with alkaline water. To make your own, I believe it's 1 teaspoon bicarb to 1 quart of water.
