I have a pinched nerve that has been KILLING me lately. Does any one know of any good exercises or practice to get relief? I've been doing stretches but it hurts so much (the kind of pain that literally curls your toes.) Just trying to take advantage of my days of so my body can recover before I have to go back to work.

@cwcville You should look up nerve flossing.  I dont get neck stuff but i get weird arm and hand nerve stuff and nerve flossing works wonders for me.  Sorry youre in pain and hopefully you get relief very soon!

Ive been to so many doctors and physical therapist and no one has ever showed me this!! You don't know how much you just helped me. You're the best!! Nerve pain is the worst :( I hate how it can even effect my mood since its such an intense pain , any moment of relief can change my whole day.

@cwcville  Its sooo fucking hard getting good docs and PTs.  Ive been told so much wrong stuff and given bad exercises that just exacerbated the problems.  I mean im eternally grateful for PTs but you gotta cross those fingers hard to get one that really will work with you instead of just going through the routine for whatever the diagnosis is.  Really hope the flossing helps in some way and/or leads to other discoveries that help.  Take care and sending healing vibes!

Aw thank you! You're not lying!  Going to try my first flossing exercise tonight after soaking in some epsom salts , look forward to some progress :)) Time for some healing tonight! LOL

@cwcville Yes yes yes to healing!!  I love love love epsom baths.  I have one of those bath pillows and bath time is definitely a bliss place for me.  I hope the exercises help and lmk how it goes!

@DoomKitty where have bath pillow been my whole life?! just added it to my amazon cart lol omg idk why it took me so long to start doing salt baths!!l I was visiting my grandma last weekend and noticed she had a bag of epsom salts so i decided to take a bath and WOW It worked so good that I went and got a bag the next day. I think I found my favorite way to treat myself on a regular basis :)  I will let you know how it goes :) if you have any cozy relaxing tips my ears are always open 😆

yes setting time for a nice soak is definitely an amaaaazing treat.  i have a friend with a japanese soak tub and its really unbelievable.  its a deep tub and you sit in it and the water pretty much comes up to your neck.  just sit back and all the worries melt.  at least for that 45m!  thats only every once in a while tho and my more typical US bathtub also works its magic just fine!  So glad you found those epsoms!  I remember when someone told me about them and i was like "yeah yeah im sure it helps" not really believing it, and then same as you: WOW.  I also love my foam roller and my massage roller stick.  Im sure you already know the necessity of a good mattress.  Wish them shits were way cheaper.  Ugh, sooooo pricey for good ones.  Used to have the crappiest busted springs old mattress years back, and my lower back was a constant mess, and then went to the mattress store and patiently tested every single mattress and found a perfectly firm one and whooooosh so many back lower back problems went away.  Ohhhhh and you might also wanna look into neck pillows.  Not the travel ones, but they make countoured pillow that help a lot of people with neck pain.  Ill think of other stuff and pass it along as i do! 😸

@DoomKitty That tub sounds like heaven!! I once joined a gym only bc they had a steam room and hot tub and i would just go straight there spend about 20 mins in the steam room to release toxins and then just soak in the tub . prob only worked out a handful of times lol I need to find a new gym like that one but it was in a different state. Im going to start taking more baths though esp after work to just melt away all of that pent up tension. Soo i just added a message roller and contoured pillow to my amazon shopping list :) and ordered some concentrated epsom rubs too for when im out and about. Also today I did some intense flossing and it worked!!! My pain has been reduced from a 9/10 to about a 6/10 in only a day!! I was reading that I should keep at it as most ppl find relief around 3 weeks in. I must look so crazy at work lol!! but i couldn't care less , I'm all about giving love to by body these days. YAY im so happy i found someone who is into this!! Everyone at work just looks at me like Im crazy when I talk about muscle relief but I just feel like so many ppl live in physical pain and could help themselves so much!! Its like im on cloud 9 when my body is in good health. My mood was soo good today , I noticed I get crabby bc of the pain Ive been in and I dont like to be in a down mood :( its not fair to myself or others. As crazy as it sounds my anxiety is even been reduced since reducing my pain. I appreciate your advice and encouragement, so happy you responded to this thread 😸

@cwcville Oooooooh ive never heard of these concentrated epsom rubs!!!  Will definitely be getting that asap.  Im so happy the flossing is helping!  It does wonders for my hands/arms.   My friend (the one with the fancy tub actually!), who is a yoga instructor and is obsessed with the human body and all the ways its interconnected, was the one who put me on to it.  And it definitely doesnt sound crazy that your mood was better and anxiety lower with your body being in less pain.  At all.   Plenty of research about the connection between chronic pain and both anxiety and mood disorders.  And i agree that heaps of people live in constant discomfort and pain and just kind of accept it rather than feeling like they can change it in any way.  It doesn't help that so many people cant even get a diagnosis or any other kind of help from doctors a lot of times.  Or are just told to take gabapentin forever or something.  And a lot of people dont really have access even to alternatives in a lot of ways.  I mean even with yoga which helps lot, that shit can be expensive af most places, and there's so many garbage teachers it turns off tons of folks.  Anyway, so glad your mood and overall vibe was improved and so happy youre feeling encouraged.  That in itself can be the best medicine!!  Oh and thanks again for the concentrated epsom tip!

  1. CalFresh @ CalFresh: Thanks everyone. My family and I are safe ATM. @mellowella thank you, but they cleaned me out. the shelves are empty but I'm hoping to call in some favors to restock ASAP. @xenxra I will reach out to set up a secure comms channel for us. Thanks again all. Yesterday was tough, but the support I've received from those I can share is with has been a Godsend.

  3. xenxra @ xenxra: @CalFresh if you are able to DM me (in a secure manner) the transactions associated with your btc theft, i can look into that part for you at least. i;m still 99% certain if the fbi didn't discard my leads they could have gotten some of my coins back and considering you had your coins stolen within the us, you have a much better chance of recovery than me. unless they went through mixers i could probably trace them myself.
  4. O @ Outsider9173: @CalFresh Haven't been here long but I want to wish you a fast recovery

  10. mellowella @ mellowella: @CalFresh are you and your family safe? You’ve helped me in a pinch and were more than generous, and I’m sure you’ve helped others. How can we help you? Does it help at all if we completely buy out what’s left? Maybe that gives time and funds to restock and rebuild? I don’t want to break any rules here, but please let us know if we can do anything. All on your time of course.
  11. CalFresh @ CalFresh: thanks guys. I'm pulling together what I have left and leaning on the kindness of folks who support me to restock my shelves so that I can keep the lights on. Having my savings drained and my security vanish in an instant is paralyzing and the repercussions will only be realized in the coming days and weeks. for now I'm just trying to stay focused on the immediate priorities for ensuring this doesn't. cause cataclysmic failure to the life I've built for my children and I.

  17. CalFresh @ CalFresh: friends, about a few hours ago my home was invaded by two punk thugs with guns. They stole everything I had in my home: cash, electronics, and mags, and forced me to transfer $20K in Bitcoin. it is a huge loss and I'm still reeling trying to figure out what i.can do to recover. For now I'm just trying to secure what little I have left so they can't take anything else. I'm telling you guys cause theres not many others I can tell. please bare w/ me, it'll take a few days to get back up and running
