I want to report my experience on this subject. Almost 40 now, diagnosed 2 years ago with ADHD-Autism. I am a bit skeptical, since I have never got along really well with consistent usage of stimulants.
So, to start with, I had tried 2-FMA and 4F-MPH, and I found them to be both way better than Concerta: 56mg Concerta made me anxious and depressed after few hours from ingestion, a real wreck.
On the other side, I found 4F-MPH to be much more effective at very low dosage (5mg to 10mg), and had no comedown whatsoever. I should also mention that I did not take 4F-MPH daily for more than few weeks, so maybe I would have ended up in the same boat as with Concerta.
Then my psych switched to Elvanse. I found Elvanse to be much better than Concerta, both by duration of effects and comedown, quite similar to 2-FMA but still...after consistent usage of few months, had diminishing returns and worse comedowns and overall side-effects.
I found that the worsening of anxiety was tipping off any positives, so I just gave up on functional usage of stimulants.
I should also mention that for me fl-modafinil has been consistently good in giving me alertness and brain power without wrecking me with anxiety, still I use it only from time to time.
To be honest, I think that any stimulant at the right dosage and Oral only can be functional...one night after party went into hyperfocus mode with some 2MMC and started working on a project

I mean, I even tried pyrros orally and they had some pros in terms of functionality (not worse than Concerta ahahah

)
