Bees, you will enjoy.  DO keep some of the pasta water.  I have made this twice now and the second time used about 1/2 cup (almost) to keep it from being dry and sticky.  Great recipe and excellent taste.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING JEWY!!! My wife did great no scrambled eggs! Seriously what a dish!!

Thanks for telling me jmorgan. Looks like a good time to try this tomorrow for Sunday dinner. I think I have everything to make it :)

I am a big fan of garlic.  I have to admit I had a heavy hand with this recipe.  Where there is one, there are more.   I bet jewy is sitting on some other jewels.  Please share /default_biggrin.png

Jewy your recipe for Carbonara came out delicious! It was a hit! I'm glad I tried it. I took my slow cooker out to set up so I can have dinner ready tomorrow when I get home. I found this recipe which is quite tasty for Brisket that takes around 4 hrs. Thought I would share so here goes:

Beef Brisket

4 lbs beef brisket, fat trimmed to 1/4 inch

12 ounces Coca-Cola (do not use diet)

1 ounce dry onion soup mix (I use Lipton)

10 1/2 ounces cream of mushroom soup (can substitute cream of celery or cream of chicken)

10 ounces chili sauce (Heinz works best)

1 large onion, sliced

salt and pepper

Directions:

Rinse brisket under cool running water and thoroughly pat dry. Sprinkle meat generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Place sliced onion onto bottom of slow-cooker. Top with seasoned beef brisket. Combine all other ingredients to make a sauce and pour over the meat. Top with lid and cook on low setting for about 8 hours or on high setting for about 4 hours.

Glad to see so many folks enjoying the Carbonara! It's definitely one of my all time favorites, and nicely done on the garlic JM! I tend to have a heavy hand in that regard as well.

Let me see what others I can dig up around Chez Wookie.

Please do.  If they are anything like the Carbonara I should easily make 300lbs by years end. /default_laugh.png

Jmorgan, since I already made muffins yesterday for biscuits and gravy, and believe it or not, I'm a health nut, try to eat only organic foods, gonna try your recipe this morning. Just woke up, got to have my coffee, then I'm going to try your recipe since I luckily have all ingredients, sounds yummy, will report back in a few hours how it turns out, thank you for sharing it!

I by no means do I make it a routine nor do I go out of my way to eat healthy food, but I agree they are pretty good for what they are.

Used my grill pan to cook a bunch of chicken and seasoned with Zoe's Spice of Life. So good.

I chopped up a breast and tossed it with some sautéed mushrooms, Brussel sprouts and super greens. So tasty. Not a recipe, but wanted to share.

PIMP JUICE

Ok, used to call this a Fuzzy Leprochan but when I was living in Jamaica I made a few batches at a party for some of my crew one night and the guys ended up calling it pimp juice because it got their girls all hammered and they all got "some" that night.  /default_cool.png

INGREDIENTS

2 parts chilled vodka (at least around Absolut level)  plain though, no flavored stuff

2 parts peach schnapps

1 part blue curaco

4 parts orange juice (no pulp) cold

4 parts pineapple juice cold

** a "part" can be any size like a cup (8oz) for example.  just make sure a part is a part is a part....

DIRECTIONS

Throw a few ice cubes into a jug large enough to hold all the "parts" (jug needs to have a lid that seals tight)

Put all alcohol in first, put lid on and give a couple shakes of the jug

Add the orange and pineapple juice, put lid on and shake well... will get a little frothy on top

Pour over the rocks or if you want it a bit weaker you can add to crushed ice in a blender

Careful.... it sneaks up on you out of nowhere..... /default_blink.png

Me either pap just needs to get the pimp juice flowing vday is coming up!
