I know many of these newbies have good intentions, but it only takes a second of reading these threads (ANY of them) to learn that certain names of products SHOULD NOT BE MENTIONED.

These threads also contain multiple instances of people being told to "be careful with details and specifics," or "if you have a question involving those - PM a Mod first," and even "please err on the side of caution before writing an essay on exactly what your plans are." Maybe discontinuing the minimum 30 post requirement before being allowed on here has had little effect on this type of posting, but it sure hasn't helped either.

This board has been such a tremendous help to me and I guess I get a little pissed when others don't seem to approach it with the same type of reverence that I have.

I wonder if there's a way to put a large red sticky next to the "Reply to this topic" banner that says "DON'T MENTION PRODUCT NAMES OR PACKAGING DETAILS"

or a similar suggestion specifically for these threads.   Or, perhaps a sticky thread from ADMIN that remains at the top in bold that admonishes all posters of the rules unique to this sensitive section.

It may not get to everyone who bookmarks, but it may remind some.

just an idea...

Nice to see you and your hairy sense of humor are still alive Senor Wookie Mod. I'll take that reply to mean you at least somewhat agree with my post. Looks like a kid I saw driving through that college town of Tu...   ah...it's just not worth it.

Anyway, hope all is well Jewster.

LOL, yeah, that's a fair assumption! And I owe you a PM. I actually printed it off after I saw you'd deleted it to clean up your inbox, so I'll be in touch soon. Just been insane lately with my son's recruitment on top of everything else. After finishing up the Rawlings Prospect League, he's now the number 1 prep pitcher in America, at least according to Baseball America's latest rankings. Anyway, catch up to you soon old friend!

No explanation necessary brother. I completely understand. I hope you got my addendum to that PM (which was just a short update I wrote below it from a couple weeks ago). Take your time old pal. All is good. But I do thank you for remembering. Now back to bashing newbies....

kidding.

That's great. Well I'll hear from you when I hear from you - again, no rush.

BTW, I'm thinking my 2nd favorite Mod's PM to HobbleTop included a line or two about board etiquette. Not so much as a slap on the wrist, but rather as some knowledge for him/her to take forward. It just seems like these types of errors (be them from newbs or others) are occurring with much more frequency lately. Here's hoping that begins to change.

Got you covered...post is gone...that's why I mentioned in PM about this /default_wink.png if you do it again you will be required to braid Jewy's butt hair. True.
