Anybody get anything from J today? I was supposed to get something today before 1030 est and nothing yet. He is usually on point, but last night no tracking number and no reply to email today. Thanks

 
I'm in the same boat as you Rick. It seems Cyber Monday has brought UPS delivery to a screeching halt.

I was suppose to have a delivery by 10:30 am this morning and still no updated tracking info from UPS. 

So frustrated.

 
Placed an order with J early this AM.  Awaiting tracking info for Next Day 10:30AM shipping.  Will keep everyone posted with update.

 
I'm in the same boat. I guess UPS either lost or has all of his orders from yesterday on hold. So all of us that ordered yesterday will NOT be getting anything today for sure. Sucks.

It's really weird this "hold" thing. I don't get it.

UPS "Guarantees" delivery on "UPS Next Day Air®" so I don't really understand why it's not showing any movement in their system.

They say a label was created yesterday but then they say they do not have the packages in their possession. Very strange.

Just curious if anyone has received an explanation, or at least some sort of guess, from J regarding this situation. From my vantage point, an entire day's worth of packages, or even half a day's worth, from the same vendor being "lost" by UPS seems unlikely.

Anyway, I don't make a habit of speculating where these types of things are concerned, but if anyone has communicated with J on this, I'd be curious as to what the explanation is, and what the plan is to correct the problem.

 
I received an email this morning from J saying that "...all my packages are on HOLD from UPS because they have delays for holidays...".

I've contacted the mail center J's shipper uses and she said all UPS packages from yesterday were picked up.

This situation really has me stumped. UPS tracking shows a label as having been created yesterday.

Just got off a "live chat" with UPS and they still show no record of ever even receiving the package.

I've never run into a situation like this where a package(s) just simply vanishes. Plus according to the UPS rep J can't even launch an "investigation report" until tomorrow.

This just sucks any way you look at it. J has offered no other information about resolving the problem other than he's having his shipper look into it.

Ideas anyone? What the heck has happened?

J's shipper actually missed the cut-off time yesterday at the mail center is my guess.

I have had a few emails with him today. He really is trying to do all he can. Keep in mind there are multiple people involved in this process. He just handles the orders, there is another person entirely that deals with the packing and bringing to UPS store. My impression, although he doesn't admit it, is that his packing/shipping guy went rogue. He told me all shipments would be resent today, possibly via FedEx just to be safe. Not that switching to Fedex matters if it's an internal problem, but maybe that's an excuse that's easy to tell us....

 
I was wondering the same thing Trizzy. Did the shipper grab the money and run so to speak?

So J actually said in an email to you that he was resending all orders today via FedEx?

 
I ordered yesterday from a different vendor and received today at 12:00. So, apparently, ups is extremely busy and packages will probably not arrive until after the 10:30 deadline. That being said, I don't think J' s shipper dropped packages off, like Trizzy said.

 
I agree with you Lucy. I think Trizzy has solved the riddle. All packages were never even dropped at the mail center yesterday.

I hate speculating like this, but we pay top dollar and deserve some sort of explanation and some reassurance that the problem is being resolved a.s.a.p.

 
From what I read here, the packages didn't make it to the UPS store drop off. If all it says is "billing info received" - I'd bet my bottom dollar that the drop off was missed. Simple and frustrating YES - held by UPS or UPS delay or ANY other conspiracy, IMO - NO.

I received today from another vendor thru the same origination point. How could only his packs be singled out? makes no sense to me!

FWIW - I would wait until tomorrow to worry or panic; Also, I would stop calling UPS - that can only bring attention to what we want to stay under the radar. not being a jerk, I have personal experience of bringing too much attention to a package!! Wasn't a good outcome!

My guess is someone is trying to cover a mistake (never a good idea, mistakes happen, all people care about is how they get fixed!!) OR someone down stream is telling him a story and he's just repeating it..

I hope you all receive tomorrow! I know the frustration of missed packs!!

I don't think it is J's fault...he really is on point all the time, sometimes shit just happens. He just sent me an email saying that the packages were lost and will be resent out again. If it was an internal thing or not, shit just happens sometimes and will most definitely happen with other vendors as well. As long as I get my order within the next few days, which I am assuming I will according to J, then all is well. I always order in advance for situations like this and not last minute like I am sure most of you do. J provides top notch service and I won't hold this against him...as long as I get my order of course.

 
Definitely agree...many people calling UPS is kind of suspect. I was worried at first but J followed up with me a few times so I am not worried as much..

Ya shit happens...but this is a potential deal breaker for me.

Very, very upset. There was plenty of time today to correct the problem and it wasn't.

I completely understand Damien, and would certainly feel the same. While the "rogue shipping department employee" explanation is certainly plausible, and possibly even a portion of the back story, this latest turn / additional delay smells like a "take payment / then buy time until new supply arrives" situation. I could well be wrong, but I've seen so many of those situations over the years that they tend to jump off the screen at me when I see them. Again, just conjecture on my part, and frankly, when you've paid and not received, whatever the truth is really doesn't matter all that much, particularly when its not been communicated from the beginning in a transparent manner.

Since I'm already into the realm of speculation, I might as well offer all of my thoughts, which also include the following. It could well be that a shipping employee bailed out with the packages, and J fully intends to make it right, but is either 1. awaiting new stock or 2. needing to finance the replacement cost of these orders with an additional day or two worth of new order revenue, sort of "pyramid scheme" style (no pun intended related to your avatar!), hence the further delay with Tuesday orders said to be arriving on Thursday with no further explanation as to why this additional delay was necessary.

Anyway, as another member noted, there are many hands that touch these orders, and in the end, as long as J makes it right and gets everyone their orders, that will certainly be better than not receiving at all. That said, in his role as a front end customer service rep, one of the cornerstone elements of his job is customer communication. Truthful, complete and timely communication at that, and in this situation anyway, he seems to be falling well short of those standards. Just one Wookie's opinion of course, so please take my comments for what they're worth.

I hope everything turns out as expected for Thursday, and please do keep us informed, should any new developments arise.

I've calmed down a bit now and have simply accepted the situation for what it is.

I'll just have to let it go for now and hope that by Thursday morning all will be resolved.

I'll keep the board posted.
