Hopefully mechanical problem. I had an exception once about 6 months ago. The letter didn't make the plane to my cityso was delayed one day.

Check your PM's I sent some info you were asking about somewhere else
Boo is correct. While I'd certainly operate with a heightened sense of awareness and caution, I've also had packages exceptioned because a route driver was late in picking them up and they missed their outbound plane, etc. Actually, I had one exceptioned in the last few months, oddly enough because it was sent 2nd day air on a Friday and wasn't scheduled for delivery until Tuesday. It arrived in my city on Saturday, and was ready for Monday delivery, but they exceptioned it as "not due for delivery" until Tuesday. Go figure. Anyway, point being, be aware and on alert, but maintain calm and see what transpires.

Will do. It had an exception in the city it gets to before being flown to my State. I am just not going to sign if they ask or signature, pretend that I am not home or that I am someone else and "he" is not home if I accidentally answer the door. No sign no crime I do believe

lol, not true.
Signing for a package means nothing really. If you're that worried about it..sign for it and then do not open it fora few hours. So if anything does happen you can say, "Oh I thought it was a package for my roommate." Or even something along the lines of, "Well my neighbor is never home and sometimes will get a package shipped to my house because im always home.."

Signing for a package takes possession of it. So yes it does mean everything. Especially if your name is already on it like mine is, I could never BS my way out of it after signing.
taking possession of it takes possession of it. Signing for it just means that you ACCEPT possession of it.

There are many reasons for an "exception". I hope your just being cautious :)

So if they ask me to sign, which they never do, and never should have to. I will not sign for it and say I did not order.
lol. ok then. But, you're just screwing yourself. All a required signature is there for it to ensure it gets delivered to the correct address. ANYONE can sign for a package. As I said, you can say your neighbor gets packages sent to your house all the time.

If you don't sign for it they take it back to the hub, therefore not having possession. You are making no sense at all.

These packages NEVER need to be signed for. People who get busted, read it on google or anywhere, always get talked into signing for it then get screwed by LE.

The delivery man leaves it on your doorstep and leaves, if they ask you to sign for it. These packages specifically, then there is something shady going on.

so I guess them leaving it on your porch, without signing for it, isn't in your possession either?

nooooo, not quite.
A few times packs have came and a signature was required. Sometimes they do it. Its VERY rare..but it does happen sometimes.

We are not talking about that. We are talking about signatures. If they leave it on your porch like normal, chances are there is no problem to begin with.

You just said it yourself, IT IS VERY RARE, so why the hell would I take the chance if there already was a delay and "exception" leading me to have my guards up. I would rather loose a couple hundred dollars then go to jail, I don't know about you. Maybe your that much of a [edit]to where to you it's worth the risk of signing for it in a situation like this...not me.

Bottom line I am not taking a chance on this. If they require a signature I am not signing. I don't see why you are making such a big deal out of this, it effects you in no way at all.
It what we do on here. We help others out. But, if you don't need any help or other's opinions..why post your situation in the first place?

What are you talking about? You're not trying to help me, you're trying to argue with me. I'm telling everyone my situation to keep everyone updated if this is going to turn into a problem. And all your doing is trying to criticize my plan. If you don't like what I have to say then don't say anything at all. This entire convo has been you trying to tell me to sign it and me saying I'm not going to, that's it. Why do you care if I sign for it so bad?

*you're

and I don't care either way. My point was just because a signature is required doesn't mean LE will be arresting you if you sign for it.

I understand that. But after being delayed for an "exception" and the fact that signatures are very rare. I would easily say that if I had to sign for it now, something is not right. It is too many shady circumstances.

If I'm wrong, then so be it. I loose out on a couple hundred dollars, better than being in jail.

  11. xenxra @ xenxra: @CalFresh if you are able to DM me (in a secure manner) the transactions associated with your btc theft, i can look into that part for you at least. i;m still 99% certain if the fbi didn't discard my leads they could have gotten some of my coins back and considering you had your coins stolen within the us, you have a much better chance of recovery than me. unless they went through mixers i could probably trace them myself.

  18. mellowella @ mellowella: @CalFresh are you and your family safe? You’ve helped me in a pinch and were more than generous, and I’m sure you’ve helped others. How can we help you? Does it help at all if we completely buy out what’s left? Maybe that gives time and funds to restock and rebuild? I don’t want to break any rules here, but please let us know if we can do anything. All on your time of course.
  19. CalFresh @ CalFresh: thanks guys. I'm pulling together what I have left and leaning on the kindness of folks who support me to restock my shelves so that I can keep the lights on. Having my savings drained and my security vanish in an instant is paralyzing and the repercussions will only be realized in the coming days and weeks. for now I'm just trying to stay focused on the immediate priorities for ensuring this doesn't. cause cataclysmic failure to the life I've built for my children and I.
  20. H @ hotdog45: @CalFresh hey man if I can do anything, anything at all to help you get back on your feet let me know. Truly my heart goes out to you. I sent you an email also
