New here so I know I won't get much help and going thru all the posts and deciphering all the codes is more time then I have.  So i decided to just go with the Starlite.  My question is... Is anyone having trouble with non encrypted e-mails to them?

@mcsemiked

You may be new here, and I'm not a big poster myself; but have to say any vendors (or buyers, come to that) still using Gmail, whose bots now reads each email content is asking for trouble at some point.

Yahoo etc are not much better and will no doubt follow Gmail lead in due course, it's astonishing the lengths we go to here to write 'diplomatically' here; only to throw all that diplomacy down the drain by typing it out on free, but highly unsecured email services.

There is no shortage of free encrypted e-mail services if one searches a little, so without being disrespectful to anyone, I think it's time we all started using them for the overall good and safety of us all.

Is Firefox any better than Google or is there something better? Not very wise with this stuff. I've heard of Opera. But am sure there's more out there.

I use Proton mail on my iPhone....

Ok I will get rid of Firefox and install Opera. Thanks for letting me know...

Hey guys - Original member of DB that just found we are back up - I tried to message starlite as they carry what I'm looking for (using protonmail) and haven't received a response.. Does anyone know their average turn around time? I used the 1st email they had listed on their site.. should I also send another one to their secondary?

TIA

Tess

Also on Opera, the best feature is the free VPN.  Just click on incognito browsing (won't save history) and than go to VPN and it will bounce your signal through Russia or elsewhere so that your IP cannot be tracked.  As far as I know Opera is the only browser offering it for free.
I use Firefox and have to pay for my VPN... I'm pretty sure you're right.

Ok so I installed Opera and used duck duck go and I couldn't get into this site. Kept saying error I don't have permission to go here. Now I uninstalled Opera and put back Firefox and get in under the privacy tab with no problems. Did I do something wrong? I really would like to have the Opera as it also has a encrypted wallet.

Won't let me log in
While on Opera go to DBG then save DBG as a favorite on speed dial, login, when it asks to save password click save and you should be all set.  I should mention, if you are going to use DDgo, just copy & paste the DBG address and see how it works for ya then.

Always use a paid for vpn. What Opera offers is a "browser based" vpn and it's not secure by any means. If you go to qualy's browser check while connected you will see what i mean.

+1 one on using VPN. For many reasons. They are cheap and can be some protection for users. not foolproof but make it harder to track you at least.

You can also set up your own VPN on an anonymous VPS that you rent from any number of VPS providers. Some take bitcoin and ask no names.  OpenVPN is the package you'd install on a Linux VPS. It sounds complicated but is really fast, I'm no programmer and I did it in 15-20 minutes. It won't necessarily outperform a commercial VPN but it's all yours, no risk of the VPN host snooping, no "lifetime" deals for a VPN provider that is probably going to fail soon . When I use mine I appear french, and get french language sites. :)   I'll move it to an english speaking country at some point.

I pay $4 per month. So price is comparable. Can be used by mobile and home clients just like the commercial providers.

Anyone familiar with hotspot VPN.  Can't seem to connect to SL and another site once I've fired it up?

I don't know if anyone still needs help with this, but there are some great encrypted email sites I know of that are mostly free! if there's a way to direct message me do it and I will fill y'all in!

  10. Professor_ @ Professor_: Hi Good Morning
  11. xenxra @ xenxra: I've opened a case with numerous exchanges at this point to monitor all the addresses I have on hand but after a lot of bakc and forth they all ultimately suggest I file a report with local PD but the people in my area are generally definitely not savvy enough to handle a case like this so I'd be left waiting around for them.to pass my case upto secret service or something
  12. xenxra @ xenxra: not a bad idea, I'm open to anything. problem is I don't really have a direct method of contact with the attacker. they used a VPN with a Google voice number to reach me.bc my number was leaked in a data breach (like 10 times at this point) and then the rest of the ordeal was carried out through a falsified coinbase front-end. atm I'm mostly just concerned with getting any phone numbers I have on hand suspended (done) and as many addresses as possible frozen (in progress)
  13. uncharted @ uncharted: @xenxra It's not the best advice but you could alway's bind a RAT to PDF file and send them an email from a differnt email posing as a lawyer/or some authority figure from a saying someting about sueing/fake affidavit or anything you can think that would make them scared/curious/greedy enough to open it and then drain their crypto or find out who it is and pinpoint their location and file charges. Just brainstorming.
  14. xenxra @ xenxra: appreciate the kind words everyone. I think I'll make it. if I can even just so much as manage to get one of these guys locked up with the trail.i have on them then I can sit well with that. based on a couple addresses I've come across they've taken at least $5mil total from other victims.
  15. T @ timyboy: BTC is soaring woohoo
  16. K @ knofflebon: @xenxra fuuuuuuuck I'm so sorry to hear that, goddamn. Crypto scammers are getting so sophisticated these days. Here's hoping this won't keep you down for too long, painful though it may be.
