How long of a shelf life does Oxy have before it is no longer safe to take?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that 0cksee doesn't become unsafe. There are rumors that over time it loses it's potency. Which is why everyone raves about "fresh" product. However, in that same article or post or whatever that I read (which I can't find), the freshness thing is supposed to effect b3nz0s more than 0p10ds. 0ps effects aren't supposed to degrade as much, b/c their mechanism of action inside the human body (where 0ps and their receptors are naturally present) is more simple.

I cannot find where I read this, though, so no link. I'm sorry. However, I can state from personal experience, I believe there to be some truth to it. I've experienced fx from pills (purcks) that were over a decade old. Bottle said use or discard by '94, if I recall, and they were a-oh-Kay last year. Just a bit worn and crumbly.

I'm not a doctor or a scientist though, so yeah, proceed using your own best judgement.

My doc orders the oxcee40 & Percs for breakthrough. I have gotten to where I take the Percs rather than the oxcee because they are not time release. I don't want to get rid of them but I didn't know how long they would stay good either.

I'd offer some advice, but I've never had Oxy's sitting around long enough to have to worry about a shelf life.. /default_biggrin.png (even though I haven't touched any in months)

I never used to either until they changed from OC to OP. Now I prefer the Percs he gives me for breakthrough so I have The OP s left & I didn't know if they go bad.

I wouldn't worry about it. Store in a cool, dark place and they should have years and years.

I think most people just guess that by oxee you mean co-dean. I haven't checked lately, or know enough by heart to say whether the stuff in OP is oxee or h1dro, but the last part is more phone I think. Either way the OP is a different substance than what most people think of when they hear oxee.

It is the oxy only in the tamper proof. It was good before they changed it & now to me it doesn't work as well as 2 Percs . It's 40 mg but because of the time release it's not as effective. I just had back surgery again & they sent me home with the. 30 mg roxci & their is no comparison.Sorry for any confusion.

Oh see and oh pea are different medicines entirely, search the real names and you'll see oh peas are not reformulated versions of oh seas. Oh sea was reformulated to be more difficult to abuse, but oh peas were a new medicine just released a few years ago.

Now why a rock see thirty wasn't any good while perks are is strange because both have the same active ingredient, (the same one in oh seas) and are instant release. AFAIK perks only come in 5, 7.5 and 10 mg, mixed with apap (aka Tylenol) so a rock see you describe would be much stronger for most people.

The only difference between the oxy brand marked OC & the ones now marked OP is it can't be cruched , chewed , etc. I know it is still. 40 mg of oxy but for me the don't seem to work as well.As for the Roxi it is not time release. It has no Tylenol in it & it works much better than the time release. Sorry for the confusion of the oxcee meaning codine

If you are worried about it i will gladly be your LAB RAT and test them out for you,lol. Honestly I think that you will be fine and not have anything to worry about.

I made the same mistake saying 0P and 0C, in that I refer to 0C and immediately associate it with Ox E co done. To help I will add links to their respective Wiki pages and hope it helps clear things up.

If you are getting an 0C that isn't "tamper resistant" you are lucky, and dancing with danger. I say that as one who was once Rx'd 200 mg/day and did more than that. My luck surviving was probably summed up in Skynyds song "That Smell", because I never used my arm. They too went from crushable a good while, and many lives, back. There are some suppliers, from what I understand, and people refer to them as "old formula" oh see.

you are right. I got samples once still in the blister pack 6 yrs expired and there fine

dark dry and cool they last a long time

I think you might be a little confused, pita. Nikien wasn't referring to oxymorphone, she was referring to the fact that about a year or two (or is it three, now?) ago they changed the imprint on the majority of time release oxycodone pills from an "oc" to an "op" (in the US) as well as changing the formulae to make them more tamper resistant. Just google "op 80" and you'll see they're 0xycontin. Or my pharmacist (and the bottle packet and label) is lying to me. 0P 80s are absolutely 0xycodone, but I can see where the confusion arises.
