Splitting/diluting and storing 80mg Oxycodone

Hey,

so I want to get some 80mg Oxycodone's but I only require 10mg doses. Since splitting a small pill 8 ways is probably a non-starter, I'm assuming you would crush and dilute it in water and refrigerate? If so, any techniques and tips? Any good ideas for a container? What's the shelf life of diluted oxycodone?

Many thanks.

This is an older post so you might have figured it out already.  Though you would be on the right track, since they're Oxycontin (Extended Release) they can gel in water maybe making a solution difficult to measure.  There's something similar that I may have done with the 40's (Oxycontin), cutting them in 1/4's and letting them completely dissolve orally before ingesting, maybe with some white grapefruit juice 20 minutes beforehand.

@zust

I do the exact same thing..  Do you find that dissolving in water is better than the crushing and taking?

I actually just started messing around with this whole process, so far I've just put the quarter piece in my mouth and dissolve/chew with incisors to avoid getting chunks of it caught in molars.

I'd imagine that dissolving in some solution (water/juice) would have a similar effect, just if you use a shot glass or similar I'd do an extra rinse, make sure you get all the active ingredients.

Sorry for the ignorant question, but If I wanted to cut a 40mg OxyContin in half, would that give me 20mg in each half? With same ER mechanism?  I want to do these legitimately, Thanks

@sming @zust @wanabe

It is NOT recommended to disturb ER pills. Except for Xt@mpz@ ER that is formulated with this in mind, tampering with an ER pill disrupts its ER mechanism, which means you could possibly end up with something similar to an IR dosing from what was supposed to be ER. This could be dangerous.

Combining this with a known opioid potentiator like grapefruit (or benzos, or booze, or antihistamines like B3n@dry1) could land you in serious trouble.

For those going after the recreational, plug it. Rectal RoA bypasses first-pass metabolism (liver), so it's pretty much the closest to slamming/snorting, but no concern for embolism (clots) or gunk in nostrils. But again, be careful - it only takes a few shots to get to alcohol poisoning with plugging, so imagine what an opioid might achieve.

Ok thanks..I did, back in the day, about 18 years ago split 40mg OxyContin’s in half to attain a 20mg strength. I did it all the time with no problems. They were fine. I guess today’s formulation won’t allow that? IDK. Thanks for your info!

From my own experience quartering a 40mg has yielded 4 equal doses similar to 10mg IR, but maybe I'm missing something?

@wanabe @zust

Today's formulation will (the gelling is just to prevent IV use), but unless it's Xt@mpz@ ER, you mess with the pharmacodynamics, so how it's absorbed. You're not likely to end up with an ER profile after you disrupt the pill. Of course, this may be what you desire (more of an IR hit), but it is nevertheless risky.

Yes, you would get the initial 10mg hit, but you would also receive the extended 10mg over 6-8 hours. OxyContin was, as you know, marketed as a 12 hour medicine. Purdue went all in on that myth. In essence, they only lasted 6-8 hours in a normal dose.

So 25% of a pill = 10mg, where does the other 10mg come from you mention that lasts 8 or so hours if the other 3 quarters are having the same effect of 10mg IR?  Wouldn't that mean there would be more then 40mg in a 40mg tab?

You’re getting a multi action pill, immediate release and extended release. If you have a 40mg ER (OxyContin,for example) and split it into even quarters, you have 4, 10mg ER pills. I you take 1 quarter, you will get 10mg over 6-8hours (marketed as 12 hours as I have said before, but never lasted that long)

Alls I know is that when I fully dissolve a quarter orally it's feels no difference then a 10mg IR oxycodone.  The dose dump you describe is just not my experience.  I mean how much would the Immediate release you describe be for 25% of a 40mg pill?  Contin pills usually don't have any immediate release as that's what breakthrough medication is for.

I'm glad this post took on more traction than the one I posted recently regarding a different, yet similar question.

I'm used to only taking IR 10-15 mg oxy. (usually perc honestly) I have now got myself a batch of ER 20 mg oxy. Question being...is this going to be 20 mg just slowly distributed so I don't feel it nearly as much as an IR 20 mg...or is it going to feel like 20 mg IR just for a longer period of time? I'm planning on actually breaking them in half so it's going to actually be 10mg but would still like to know if it's going to feel just really very mild or of it will, in fact feel like a 10mg oxy, just longer lasting.  Anyone with experience please chime in. 🙃

late post, but I think IR never lasts as long as a regular oxy cut up.  I cut up the oxys because we all know if you buy the bigger mgs, it ends up being a bit cheaper.  If I take a whole one, an 80 does last 6 hours, but for the first couple of hours, I am tired and cannot function as well.  Cutting into the quarters, I can spread it out.  I do get some nodding, but not as long as an 80 will give.  I tried doing this on an IR and of course, since it's IR, when I cut it up into quarters and took it, I was nodding, couldn't function and it only lasted a couple of hours.  I don't want to buy them anymore anyway because there are a lot of fakes and got some fake 40s myself.

  2. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 lol I am actually surprised it is a real ID. I needed those documents because my license had been expired for over a year and I had to start all over. Nothing was in the system. It was a huge mess. I had no clue I was signing up for Real ID. They asked me for the exact same documents that I needed for a State ID Card.
  3. S @ soupson: bless your heart buddy. no sense of grammar or proper insults/jokes. you need this place in ways i can’t comprehend

  7. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda I was under the impression that you'd need all of the points to get a real ID . I'd check it's validity if you're gonna fly domestic any time soon, just to make sure. Not to tell you what to do, sorry -
  8. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 In my state to get a Real ID, I need SS card, Birth Certificate and two proofs of residency. Which I am positive I had to provide to get a new ID when it had been expired.

  10. B @ bigblueallda: I haven't flown in an airplane in 20 years lol. Can't recall the last government building I have been in either. According to the symbol it tells me I should have on my ID to make it a Real ID I do have one in my state

  13. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda are you sure you have a Real ID ? I mean , they really want 6 points of proof and 1 for your addy and 1 for your SSN. Did you maybe get it done and forgot and flew out of the country or something ?

  16. T @ Turbo259: @drjimmy1964 what did you mean by advertise? not gettin the verbiage, DM works if anything, just didnt understand
  17. B @ bigblueallda: {Visit your local Driver Service Bureau with the necessary documents: original birth certificate, Social Security card, and two proofs of your state's residency. } I definitely provided this when I had to get a new ID when i let mine go expired too long maybe I unknowingly got one but I think it is pretty standard here.
  18. B @ bigblueallda: Well it was a state id renewal. Before that there was a mixup and I had lost my birth certficate and social security number. After a couple of weeks and finally getting several documents in order I was able to get a state ID. It had been expired previously for a little too long and they wanted all kinds of proof. It was a mess. But nah I looked up what to look for an my state's ID to see if it is a Real Id or not and my card as the symbol it is supposed to have. I'll take a closer look though

  20. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: Actually it says "Not For Real ID Purposes". That is my 2022 renewal of my 2018 picture ID. I am not due till 2026 and I am sure they will make me go in since my pic would be 8 years old - they used to make you go in in my state for aging when I was younger, then went paper - then back to picture ( I think 9/11 to blame for that ) but relaxed it.
