Recently, 17-year-old Julio Macias Gonzalez of Mexico City suffered a fatal stroke while sitting with his family at dinner. Doctors say the stroke may have been triggered by a hickey his girlfriend gave him earlier that day, as the suction could have caused the clot, which ultimately reached his brain, to develop. The hickey and stroke connection is not without precedent. In 2011, a woman in New Zealand suffered temporary partial paralysis due to a clot that had formed under similar conditions.
