This started today in texas. This is the first state to make paying for sex a felony. Probably covers sex found on the street, websites and massage parlors. What are your thoughts on this?

A woman should be able to sell her body legally if she wants to IMO.  People are going to do it either way and it just fills up our jails and gives people a record for something that should be legal.

I do agree. Texas does have a lot of sex trafficking. But there are also a lot of freelance workers. I do think it will cause a lot of financial problems for the workers. And also give a lot of regular people bad criminal records. It's like a 50/50 on this one.

@Drunkensmurf Just think about a sex worker that decides to try and get out of the life. How is she going to get a good paying job with a bunch of sex charges on her record. How embarrassing that has to be to try and explain that away in an interview. And I also find it stupid that prostitution is illegal, but porn is just fine and really the only difference is one is recorded. The porn stars are getting paid for sex too. LOL

Here in Nevada we support the vices. Seems better to have legal brothels that are paying taxes and have some protections for workers and customers.

It doesn't completely irradicate the illegal prostitution, but I think it helps. This seems like a better way for the government to make money off of the world's oldest profession. Sending it further underground makes it more dangerous for all involved.

@2earls you are right about legalizing it. More tax money and it could reduce some dangerous situations. hopefully texas will find out soon they are going in the wrong direction. I personally dont pick up workers or use the websites like backpage. But I have visited some massage parlors a few times. I would hate for that to disappear.

I agree with the consensus. The more underground the more dangerous. Also not to bring up a hot button but Texas has also authorized a one 800 number so you can report people that might be considering an abortion. No matter your thoughts on the subject just ponder that for a minute and think of the many places it could lead. I think Texas is trying to lead the way on conservative ism however true conservatives believe in less government not less freedom.

@Deepnorth I agree with your statement as I don't think you can preach "freedom", but only when it applies to what suits your personal beliefs. The very idea of an 800 number to rat on women who may be considering abortion kind of makes my blood boil. If people didn't feel the need to shove their beliefs down everyone else's throat maybe we could all get along whether we disagree or not.

I did read that about abortions. It's crazy that a state would make that illegal, but they also just approved that anyone that owns a handgun can have open carry. I had to take a long course and prove I was able to use the gun safely before I was able to have a concealed license. Who is really making these changes?

Roger that.

I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.

  4. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  5. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  6. aBBazaBBa123 @ aBBazaBBa123: @rockychoc How do I contact you?
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote
  11. P @ psychedpsych: Trump is cracking down….
  12. P @ psychedpsych: Hackers are the scum of the earth
  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
