The Mayweather Vs Cotto Ring Of Kings. May 5

i wasn't gonna watch as it was ppv, and there are a lot of other places i need to put that $60. TD, you probably know what i'm talking about. but... i was able to watch it via link from the capt. here. pretty good. i bookmarked that site for future use too. thanks capt!

i'm more of a standard martial arts enthusiast, but i can respect what boxers do in their training too. enjoy the fight!
Yeah I refuse to bite on those arguments of "who's tougher"? They are two different sports and actually boxing could learn a lot from UFC in certain areas. Now we got one guy who makes $30,000,000 for one fight whle the whole Olympic program didn't earn a single gold last Olympics in any weight class and countries like Turkey did and Ireland did. Our athletic youth don't wan't to get beat up any more for money, much easier being a football or basketball player.

The rest of boxers barely make $2000. Only a few cash cows out there now, Pacquaio, Amire Khan, Canello, Hobkins is done, nobody like Chad Dawson for some reason, Mosely is done, Nonito Donaire is good.

But nothing like the 70's and 80's boxing's heyday.

though i like UFC and MMA, my real passion is for more traditional martial arts. They all have incredible aspects to their skills, and training regime... and i certainly don't exclude boxers from that. but kind of like boxing... with a single martial art(not the mma style), its not really about the money... there's just not much to be had. I've seen some amazing skills at local levels that will never make a dime off of their talent. I could go deep int this subject, but i'll leave it at this, each of these fighting styles commands respects when an individual puts that much time, heart, blood, sweat, and tears into it.

I trained under a 9th degree grandmaster kenpo instructor. one of about ten 1st generation black belts in Ed Parkers system. I loved listening to all the old stories he had. my favorite one was where he was going on about "this little red headed kid from oklahoma" and how he would psych his competitors out before a match. and act like this was his first tourney, etc. it took me at least ten minutes to realize he was talking about Chuck Norris. He was even at the tournament when Bruce Lee did his demo of 'the one inch punch' he was a great guy to train under. would push you to your limits and beyond.... and the stories were pretty cool too

Nonito Donaire vs. Jeffrey Mathebula on HBO

There's a link earlier in the thread about streaming sports if you don't carry HBO. Lets see if it works tonight.

Pacquiao vs Bradley desision was reversed for the first time in ages if ever. Bradley keeps the belts howver.

  1. CalFresh @ CalFresh: Thanks everyone. My family and I are safe ATM. @mellowella thank you, but they cleaned me out. the shelves are empty but I'm hoping to call in some favors to restock ASAP. @xenxra I will reach out to set up a secure comms channel for us. Thanks again all. Yesterday was tough, but the support I've received from those I can share is with has been a Godsend.
  2. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: Mad love to you and your family @CalFresh
  3. xenxra @ xenxra: @CalFresh if you are able to DM me (in a secure manner) the transactions associated with your btc theft, i can look into that part for you at least. i;m still 99% certain if the fbi didn't discard my leads they could have gotten some of my coins back and considering you had your coins stolen within the us, you have a much better chance of recovery than me. unless they went through mixers i could probably trace them myself.
  4. O @ Outsider9173: @CalFresh Haven't been here long but I want to wish you a fast recovery

  10. mellowella @ mellowella: @CalFresh are you and your family safe? You’ve helped me in a pinch and were more than generous, and I’m sure you’ve helped others. How can we help you? Does it help at all if we completely buy out what’s left? Maybe that gives time and funds to restock and rebuild? I don’t want to break any rules here, but please let us know if we can do anything. All on your time of course.
  11. CalFresh @ CalFresh: thanks guys. I'm pulling together what I have left and leaning on the kindness of folks who support me to restock my shelves so that I can keep the lights on. Having my savings drained and my security vanish in an instant is paralyzing and the repercussions will only be realized in the coming days and weeks. for now I'm just trying to stay focused on the immediate priorities for ensuring this doesn't. cause cataclysmic failure to the life I've built for my children and I.
  12. H @ hotdog45: @CalFresh hey man if I can do anything, anything at all to help you get back on your feet let me know. Truly my heart goes out to you. I sent you an email also

  17. CalFresh @ CalFresh: friends, about a few hours ago my home was invaded by two punk thugs with guns. They stole everything I had in my home: cash, electronics, and mags, and forced me to transfer $20K in Bitcoin. it is a huge loss and I'm still reeling trying to figure out what i.can do to recover. For now I'm just trying to secure what little I have left so they can't take anything else. I'm telling you guys cause theres not many others I can tell. please bare w/ me, it'll take a few days to get back up and running
  18. CnC5 @ CnC5: @xenxra awesome
