Everyone in the UK may have picked up on this.

It seems common sense has been written on paper? What what? Stuff we all know, criminality, penalties and ease of access are no barriers to drug use. The liberal democrats seem to want a different approach, focusing on treating drug *abuse* as a health issue, not a criminal one. I'd hope, one day down the line, probably years from now, this might lead to decriminalisation for some substances. However, as always, David Cameron's obnoxious, hypocritical, nauseating character is being a barrier to common sense. However, the liberal democrats kept referring to drug use as a 'scourge'. So maybe not moving in the right direction?

To be honest, it was their approach to 'legal high's' which depressed me. I hate the term legal highs, I hate head shops and stupid, thoughtless vendors. You get research chemicals, you get ethnobotanicals. They are both being grouped under legal highs, some brilliant plants such as kratom and kanna are getting destroyed by misinformation. The solution apparently is to ban EVERY single psychoactive substance, then, according to the report, exempt alcohol and tobacco. As well as the irony of exempting two of the more addictive and destructive (and, to be honest, crap) drugs, they're also apparently prohibiting the sale and possession of tea and coffee. Occasionally I indulge in the odd RC, with care, and rely on kratom to stave off nasty symptoms when it's all I have. If this policy became practised, I and lots of others would be forced further underground.

If the politicians want to end the 'scourge' of drugs, they should set about creating a less toxic, vicious society that I don't wish to escape and numb myself from.

...little rant over...

Good point there johnnog, free labour's always been a popular idea...

But I still feel like it's not the 'money maker' that the suited, plastic cronies think it is...

The war on drugs will cost in policing, building and maintaining prisons, keeping inmates safe, fed etc, increasing border and customs staff levels, foreign aid to other countries to halt importation, court and magistrate's time and money, even money spent on anti drug propaganda. And then there's the social and health costs...

Apart from the fact that an anti drug agenda would be a vote winner, I just can't see a reason to maintain the status quo.

Sod them all...

Wasn't aware Cameron had said that...not surprising, considering politicians knack going back on themselves.

But he said that when he was tory leader...did he say it to win votes? If so, why isn't he saying it now? None of it makes sense...

Maybe we should all be safe and just stick to binge drinking and fireworks being sold at the supermarket. sod it. :/

Lib dems or the greens are the only parties that might  make some progress...

And yeah, most of our politicians used classified drugs...remember Jacqui Smith/Jacqui Spliff? She was pretty vile...

Same Jacqui smith, same idiot. person who followed her, Alan Johnson, sacked David Nutt from the advisory council on drugs for telling the truth, then pushed through cannabis reclassification. Yeah, that last point was a bit irrelevant, but he was still a nasty piece of work.

Out of nowhere, UKIP have got two MPs, Greens have one, after years of campaigning fair policies. Not too fair.

But, as far as the toxic society goes. Yeah, the politicians help to perpetuate it and do little effective to stop it, but it's the vicious, amoral, nasty animalistic shits on the street that make this country, this world, as sick, as threatening, and as caustic as it is today.

I'm on a bitter one as always, people who do nasty things to others, not from an office, but on the street, this songs rings a bell, you probably know it too

  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  8. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  9. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  10. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  11. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  12. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
  13. Alkazar @ Alkazar: It is INSANE how doctors treat tax paying hard working people like criminals when they ask for opioids. This world just keeps getting more and more backwards. But thanks to this site to be able to find people to help when no one in the medical world will.
