UK: "War on drugs has failed"

Interesting, though it is something that pops up every do often, surprised its that's department is saying it. Also surprised you found an article anywhere that wasn't EU referendum related!

heh, yeah that's the big thing right now :P

Looking at the polls all over the internet for that brexit thing, I'll be surprised if the UK stays in the EU... Might work out to be a good thing - in a few years, the £ might be worth a lot more than it currently is (and has been) at the exchanges.

Yeah, saw this a few days ago...it's just a Rinse. Repeat. thing going on. It's routine for official advice like this to appear, only for the government to say that their approach is working and that drug use is going down (drug deaths going up, but details, details. Dear me). It's like trying to budge a boulder with a little finger. This stupid blanket ban has made me even more pessimistic as well. Although the ban kept possession of RCs (or anything psychoactive, as we know) legal. Baby steps, maybe?

A while ago when I used to smoke a lot, I'd just spend my evenings watching (brilliant) 80s comedy-horror films, or The Trap Door. When I drank it ended up with me staggering around, with blurred vision, before passing out in a numb sleep, which is exactly what I wanted. The one that caused the most harm to me is clear.

Oh yeah, on the EU referendum, I'm crapping myself. I want the UK to leave more than anything in the world. I won't get much sleep that night, and the next morning I don't know how I'll check the TV or internet for the results.

2016 will be an eventful year.

There never was a war just a "war machine" like everything money is the cause. I could carry on about all the issues and why its sooo wrong but you all are all smart enough. You don't need me explaining the obvious, I just cant help but speak when I see the words "war on drugs" cuz I get sick. What a fucture that is in almost everyplace in the world. The US is worse. I have done drugs with local cops the seen them in court putting away kids for the same thing. They gota do it so their department gets federal funding and the jails get their portion. WTF im gona stop,, like I said I can go forever.. Rather be positive.. Much Luv people.

@Derekd Yeah, I'd agree, money is definitely part of it. The hypocrisy of those drug-taking police is a bit stomach-churning...

I think vote-winning is another big part of it, though... that's why the stupid Psychoactive Substances Act (UK) was passed this year, which will just trade people's lives for votes. Well, the entire 'war on drugs' does...

Now that Theresa May (who came up with that sick law) is Prime Minister, I'm just despairing. Then again, the situation in the UK can't get any worse, since everything is either banned or tightly controlled through the medicines act, but I'm sure with May in charge, she'll find a way to make it worse and win more votes from tabloid-reading voters.

It's just that I thought, maybe a few years ago, the 'war on drugs' was starting to be revealed for the inherently immoral thing it is, now it's starting to not seem that way. =/

  8. CalFresh @ CalFresh: Thanks everyone. My family and I are safe ATM. @mellowella thank you, but they cleaned me out. the shelves are empty but I'm hoping to call in some favors to restock ASAP. @xenxra I will reach out to set up a secure comms channel for us. Thanks again all. Yesterday was tough, but the support I've received from those I can share is with has been a Godsend.
  9. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: Mad love to you and your family @CalFresh
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @CalFresh if you are able to DM me (in a secure manner) the transactions associated with your btc theft, i can look into that part for you at least. i;m still 99% certain if the fbi didn't discard my leads they could have gotten some of my coins back and considering you had your coins stolen within the us, you have a much better chance of recovery than me. unless they went through mixers i could probably trace them myself.
  11. O @ Outsider9173: @CalFresh Haven't been here long but I want to wish you a fast recovery

  16. mellowella @ mellowella: I will always remember what you did for me the very first time I donated. I have been waiting to pay that kindness forward.
  17. mellowella @ mellowella: @CalFresh are you and your family safe? You’ve helped me in a pinch and were more than generous, and I’m sure you’ve helped others. How can we help you? Does it help at all if we completely buy out what’s left? Maybe that gives time and funds to restock and rebuild? I don’t want to break any rules here, but please let us know if we can do anything. All on your time of course.
  18. CalFresh @ CalFresh: thanks guys. I'm pulling together what I have left and leaning on the kindness of folks who support me to restock my shelves so that I can keep the lights on. Having my savings drained and my security vanish in an instant is paralyzing and the repercussions will only be realized in the coming days and weeks. for now I'm just trying to stay focused on the immediate priorities for ensuring this doesn't. cause cataclysmic failure to the life I've built for my children and I.
  19. H @ hotdog45: @CalFresh hey man if I can do anything, anything at all to help you get back on your feet let me know. Truly my heart goes out to you. I sent you an email also
  20. G @ gfunkster: @CalFresh im really sorry to hear that. But remember karma is real my man. They just fd their karma for a long time.
