A lot of people are concerned with the fact that their tracking numbers are not posting updates on the US#PS site. It is a real fact that the US is currently doing so purposely and we have no idea if or when they will resume tracking from international countries. I just read of the financial hardships the PO is having plus the fact that last year they lost the Postal Governor so there is no longer a Board of Governors overseeing what USPS is doing. From what I read it looks like they may be cutting costs in that area along with a whole lot of other cost cutting at many levels. Basically it sucks for businesses who rely on tracking to help with customer service and be sure that when a customer claims that they didn't get an order delivered then the business can confirm through the tracking whether the customer has or has not gotten it to ward off fraud on either end. Online stores are already losing business due to this problem. It obviously affects customers as well since we no longer have the security of knowing if our packs are on their way or if they may have been stolen. It also opens up avenues for thieves to steal packs if they know this is going on (ie: The mailmen, themselves!) During my quick research into this issue I found a petition that businesses and consumers alike are signing to try to get the USPS to begin tracking our parcels again. As soon as my last order makes it home to me I will then sign it myself. The way I look at it, it can't hurt and it is quite crucial that they MUST resume tracking! Quite franky, if they don't resume then the USPS just may go out of business themselves...
