Vicodin vs replacement?

Well with new rules issues out across the US I know how difficult getting what I need.

Ive been on Vicodin for a little over a year for back issues and my last visit to the doctor left me a little worrisome. They explained how they’ll be doing what they can to not prescribe opioids but instead find alternatives.

so for my sake, what are some of the best replacements for pain other then other opioids?

Ive always been safe with them and never found getting off of them hard but I’m curious to see what I can try before I get stuck with a pill that makes me pee expensive piss and not dull the pain!

It does somewhat matter what the cause of the pain is as to what other possibilities there are. I have a long list of alternatives to opiates that have been prescribed to me over the years. In my case it was for nerve pain, inflammation from bulging disks, muscle spasms and anything associated with degenerative disk disease. If you want me to list them let me know.

This is a long shot, but some people are helped greatly by kratom. For me, it only helps me with wds, but it doesn't cost a fortune to try it and see if it does anything for the pain and then you will have some on hand in case of emergency.

Right now I am also prescribed vikes and I don't believe my doctor is going to cut me off, I just think she wants to document more of my symptoms to stay out of trouble so I am expecting more tests in the near future.

@BlackHawkJJS Are your issues Worker's Comp related, by chance? I am just wondering if another option is for you to change doctors?  Some of the alternatives your doctor may offer instead of pills are injections and/or surgery -- depending the severity of your problem(s).   Take care, BlackHawk, and I hope things work out for you.

I’ve got severe back pain from a car wreck.

Ive been on vicks for awhile and I love them. They remove the pain and it’s a nice body numb for me. Makes me able to do everyday things. 10/325 two of those always did the trick and I’d hate to be forced to find something new.

That being said if vics were cheaper I wouldn’t be making this post but yeah if anyone could give some good alternatives with similar pain relief that would be wonderful!

For now this is the only doctor in my area that accepts my insurance which is another hassle. But any advice or solutions help!

  5. Ketmaster @ Ketmaster: Know how to get a script if you don't have ADHD? A vyvanse script at least, read the DSM-V diagnostic criteria and apply the symptoms to either real thing in your life or make up shit, give examples of the symptoms, don
  6. Ketmaster @ Ketmaster: Pretty sure most pharmacies won't honor a prescription from those kinds of services.

  16. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: Pharmacies, too. I switched my psychiatrist and just went through a pill mill telehealth place for a half year, then it got popular and all major pharmacies stopped filling Rx stims for this company’s independent contractor-providers, regardless of any reason than they treated ADHD patients with stims and it was a lot of people. Independent medical judgment from clinicians licensed and following rules. I needed the treatment. Who cares how many patients use the company? They followed the rules.
  17. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: That’s wild. It should be medical judgment, not corporate fear of lawsuits. Go set that doc straight. You need to have pain controlled aggressively or not at all. Be consistent.
