Realizing only in retrospect how very poor your judgment was concerning this, that, or the other...

Don't be too hard on yourself Blue. It's impossible to see the truth about people sometimes, despite our best efforts. And more importantly, don't allow anyone to shake your faith in the value of friendship and trust. When we allow ourselves to become jaded and to no longer believe that goodness and truth exists in others, then "they" win. Don't allow them to win.

People in general.....especially people who fabricate shit and lie and the list goes on but I will stop there.......

It annoys me that this fucking thread is 36 pages long and the one about "What Makes You Smile" is only 3.

oh piss & moan  /default_sad.png  /default_angry.png

Thank you, Jewy. I appreciate your post and I agree completely. My daughters are both in their very early twenties and just beginning to make their own way in the world. I can't become jaded and bitter -- I have to believe my girls will find life contains more joy than disappointment, and more good than evil -- I wouldn't know how to face the future otherwise.

In fact, my natural tendency is to go full-bore Pollyanna: the glass is always half-full; silver linings are painted in strokes broad enough to block out the cloud. Actually, friends can find my optimism annoying at times, and have asked me to just shut up and let them bitch for awhile!

But KK just said it's gonna be alright! She promised. I believe her.  /default_smile.png

One of my favorite sayings: "Everything always turns out all right in the end. So, if things are not all right, well, it must not be the end yet!"

Wow blue, small nerve struck.  My daughter's fixing to break it off with her boyfriend, for several reasons.  I was sitting reading while mom was talking to her.  Talking about things like he was a slob...real sweet, but not real passionate, bla bla bla.  She can't live with the dirty dishes being in the sink, when she comes home if she knows the Kitchen was clean when she left, so she told him off.  Boyfriend just shrugged her off.

My wife exploded.  Dirty dishes is not the problem, she said.  Him just shining you on is the root of it, your father, can you imagine?

Uh oh I said to myself.  Started listening for real then.  Mrs. said, Daddy would tell you to piss off, move out or he would make a deal.  He wouldn't shrug you off and mumble.  I don't always judge people rightly she said, but I know that man loves me.  Handicapped, player, musician, bitches be damned, I know that man loves me.  He loves you too.  (I sat in the other room and wept.) some tough guy, huh?

She went on to say what Jewy just said, You can't get it right all the time.  You may even still love him, but you can't live with him, not like that.  But you can't worry about that cause you might deny a real man a chance.  I felt like cheering.

and KK did promise.  I believe her too.  /default_wink.png

I know I'm weird as shit, but Heisenberg's post to blueroan made me think a lot about life and myself. In my computer room I copy things that are funny like hooters post, misspelling on web, kill her and quotes of inspiration and put on my wall, I just added this one, it's great thank you!

Does it help at all if we completely buy out what’s left? Maybe that gives time and funds to restock and rebuild? I don’t want to break any rules here, but please let us know if we can do anything. All on your time of course.
  8. CalFresh @ CalFresh: thanks guys. I'm pulling together what I have left and leaning on the kindness of folks who support me to restock my shelves so that I can keep the lights on. Having my savings drained and my security vanish in an instant is paralyzing and the repercussions will only be realized in the coming days and weeks. for now I'm just trying to stay focused on the immediate priorities for ensuring this doesn't. cause cataclysmic failure to the life I've built for my children and I.

For now I'm just trying to secure what little I have left so they can't take anything else.
