My wife mentioned that she needed to up her dosage a bit. She was previously receiving 90 Hydro 5/325's. Her Dr. just wrote her a script for 240 pills on a 30 day prescription. Is this normal or considered pretty extreme. The bottle was comically large and only cost $20 with insurance. I'm not complaining, just never seen it before.

most docs dont do more then three pills a day......some do four but rare.

That's def NOT normal in the sense that 240 p@lls for 30 days is 8 per day. So she would take 2 at a time, 4 x per day. 10mgs of hydr@ is not unusual, but it's odd that her doc would rx so much Tylenol in with it. At 325 mil each, that's 2600 mils. Not "too much" I guess, but more than I would expect anyway.

Idk why the doc didn't just write her 10/325's or even the lower 7.5's if she was asking for an increase. It just seems quite dramatic IMO. She should have gotten a scrip for 120 x 10/325 or 10/500, what an odd thing to do ... 10 mil 4x daily is not unusual, it's just the way it was rx'd that has be baffled lol. Although that's basically the high end of rx for hydr@. I can't think of anyone getting more than 40 mils daily, other than the time released version thats now out.

What are the instructions on the bottle?

Like 2 pills every 6 hours. Maybe she just threw in extra. I was honestly surprised they didn't bump to 7.5 or 10. I mean better than nothing though. Need to do CWE I guess

tell your wife to not take any tylenol with these at all then,  that is alot of tylenol.  I actually had to come off hydros because my liver enzymes went way up.. Is the doc doing blood tests every so often to make sure that doesnt happen?

Water extractions!!! So easy I do it all the time takes like a minute. Works with codeine or whatever, and then you get to take a hydro shot it hits you so fast i love it!

Yeah, that would be 10mils, 4x daily... It is odd the doc didn't just rx a higher dose instead. Maybe figured she could take only one at a time and take 2 if needed. That would make a little sense anyway.

Well at least u know its a normal dosage, just an odd way of filling it. The amount of Tylenol isn't too bad, 2600 mils is like taking 5 tylenol a day. Considering the labeling on that is not to exceed 4000 mils a day, it's not terrible, but I would caution her to have some routine blood work here and there. If her liver values increase she should then ask her doc to increase to 10/325 instead of 5/325.

Many years ago I broke my back, after doc said I was "better", I was eating Tylenol like candy. I had no idea how harsh the stuff was. I'm talking about like 15 a day easy... Very stupid of me, but pain makes us stupid sometimes. Anyway, started feeling ill for a while, kinda sluggish, occasional nausea, etc. bloodwork showed my liver values were highly elevated n had me tested for hep b and C. Was negative thankfully, but since I don't drink alcohol doc was a little baffled til I mentioned the Tylenol. Bottom line, I stopped taking it completely and 3 months later liver values were way down, after 6 months was back to normal but doc is concerned about the long term so I get bloodwork done once a year to be safe.

Just one last bit, I don't have a prob with anyone enjoying some rec time, but if ur wife is simply taking her meds for pain- don't mess with the extractions... JMHO of course.

best to the wife, hope her pain is lessened now. Take care,

D

Thanks for the replies all. Next time she sees the Dr. she'll ask about 7.5 or 10. I remember once she got 5/750 or 7.5/750. Those were the worst.

So just a question about CWE. If you crush them and mix them in water and let it settle out a bit are you accomplishing the same goal to a degree ? I've taken them with way for faster uptake.

All I know is you don't need to add anything, it hit's you as fast as a shot of vodka, only way better my friend.

that is allot to get per month,

90 pills for a 30 days supply is enough,240 pills for 30 days will take her to hospital or maybe to death,it must be a mistake by her doctor.

  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  3. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.
  4. ontovzik @ ontovzik: He peed it in the snow in my backyard.
  5. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  6. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote

  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
