1 Million Truckers To Protest Obama By Shutting America Down

September 19, 2013

Organizers say that truckers taking part in the strike will not haul freight for three days, beginning Oct. 11.

A social media campaign launched earlier this week has already garnered tens of thousands of supporters.

The event is set to include a convoy to the nation’s capital, and early feedback shows that many drivers are eager to join the movement.

Photos of trucks and drivers planning to take part in the event are consistently being posted to the Facebook page,

“Truckers to Shut Down America,†and many who cannot join are pledging to keep their rigs parked during the strike.

If successful, the strike could result in significant gridlock — both on the streets of Washington, D.C. and between points of delivery throughout the nation.

According to the movement’s social media administrators, the three-day strike hopes to accomplish three specific goals. In addition to interrupting truck deliveries and engaging in the trucker convoy, organizers hope to elicit support from the general population.

Calling for a general strike among American citizens of all stripes, the final objective is “No shopping. No paying bills. No using money for three days.â€

Unquestionably a lofty goal, a large number of Facebook users seem inclined to take part.

“Thank you Truckers for speaking for all of us,†wrote one supporter.

Many contend that any initial sting from missed deliveries is a small price to pay if the federal government actually hears the message.

“I can survive just fine for 30 days or however long it takes to restock after the shutdown,†another poster stated.

It remains to be seen whether this movement will succeed in opening the eyes of those in Washington or be largely ignored (a la the 9/11 biker rally.) One fact is indisputable, though: millions of Americans — bikers, truckers, and everyone in between — are fed up with the status quo in the federal government and are prepared to go to great lengths to preserve this great nation for future generations.     (exmphasis added)

Public rallies against our corrupt leaders are becoming a common occurrence, and this planned strike will surely not be the last such outcry. Barack Obama made good on his 2008 campaign promise of bringing change to America. Grassroots outrage among patriotic Americans is the first step toward finally changing the nation back.

Hooray for the bikers and truckers using their freedom to protest government actions peacefully - as our founding fathers intended!

However, even if this 3 Day event doesn't cause you any inconvenience,

I want to remind you the govt has mentioned plans to shut down the electrical grid (to see if it will start up again?)

Why pick November, a cold month in some areas?

Multiple govt agencies has been given an October 1, 2013 deadline to have ready  their emergency shelters, food, supplies, anything needed.....

If I were you I'd have extra supplies of water and other necessities early October.   That's all I can or will say.

stock up on....  D-rations & go buy a camping pump water filter.

I keep a few bug out bags by my front door incase of an emergency... fire, power loss whatever. My bag is basically just some clothes, tarps, camping stove and water filter. Also some MRE's and other survival gear.

I also make my own survival candles.  ( It is basically a TEA candle with cardboard instead of a wick.) the smallest one I make will burn really hot for about 28 minutes plenty of time and heat to boil a large pot of water.

 - These tea candles are windproof and waterproof rain and wind probably wont put them out.

-They work very well as fire starters.

- and sometimes i use them just for extra light when i camp.

If anyone wants better directions on the Modified Tea candle's  PM me and I can send you my instructions research and a youtube video that might help as well.

Thanks -

Sounds like its time for me to buy a generator.

We are campers and have all sorts of camping gear, and we are very lucky to have gas water heater, stove and fireplace. Had an eight day power outage here in 2008 and didn't have the gas fireplace and had to burn wood, but warm showers and cooking was nice. We went out to eat one night and covered our dogs under a sleeping bag, when we got home neither one came out from under the bag preferring the warmth, that's how cold it got in the house.

For food, we have enought dry stuff for a week or two and a whole hot tub full of water (filtered with our camping water filtr for sure).

It's funny, the first two days of no heat it's bearable, then by day three your house walls inside will have been fully saturated thru with coldness and the inside of the house will feel MUCH colder and its harder to warm a room up.

I would LOVE that PM please sir!!
I couldn't PM you because Im not your friend. If it was the candles you wanted the PM for.

I have spent a few winters without reliable heat and it isn't easy even in a mild climate like georgia. -  Its always good to be prepared for what mother nature throws around. Not to mention the fact that when food shortages arise the cost of goods skyrocket. - I have researched many medicines on this forum and places to procure them. Antibiotics and such.

Fish tank antibiotics can be used. And you can get a giant bag of fish tank antibiotic's for next to nothing. Although most people would not recommend dosing yourself with fish-tank medicine.

-- But considering the cost of water-filters. certain chinese soldier water filters & life straws can be purchased for very cheap.

---I like this topic wish more people would get in on the convo. I would like to hear more about this trucker strike and power grid outage

I would buy a shotgun and handgun and start shooting animal if i had to survive..........Maybe even some -----------..........

KK

Im going to make a map of where the Mormon families live in my area and keep it near the shotgun, everyone knows they stock food in their homes like squirrels, years of food.

Haha just kidding around, no offense.

JUST FROM AN ARTICLE ON SURVIVAL:

When the water you're hoping to drink might be riddled with parasites or bacteria, you can't afford to skimp on water purification. In the very circumstances that put you in contact with questionable water (being in the wilderness, surviving or recovering from a disaster, or living in a part of the world where water isn't purified for you) the last thing you want to do is to get sick. Read the following instructions carefully and always be prepared to purify water yourself.

 1.  Clean the container in which you're going to hold or store the water. Use dish soap and water. Rinse thoroughly. After washing the containers, submerge them in a solution of 1 teaspoon of non-scented liquid household chlorine bleach to every quart (or liter) of water (making sure the entire surface of the bottle comes in contact with the solution for a minimum of 15 seconds), then rinse thoroughly with a weaker mixture of bleach and water.

 2.  Filter water through a clean cloth. Then allow it to settle for at least 30 minutes and pour off the clear water for purifying. This process of filtering and settling is especially important if you're going to be using chemical purification because disinfectants are less effective in cloudy, murky, or colored water.

  • It is possible to use cotton cloth, such as a clean handkerchief or clean white sock, or silk (water passes quickly through multiple layers).
  • One way to set this up is to cut the bottom off of a water or coke bottle. Roll a clean sock up on itself and stuff it down to the neck of the bottle. Pour your water through the filter until it is clear to the eye.
  • If you have a portable water filter, use it.
 3.  Speed up the clearing of water. One way to do this is to add a little aluminum sulfate. This causes impurities to coagulate, which are removed as the particulate settles to the bottom of the container.

 4.  Purify the water using any of the following methods. If you can, combine boiling with a chemical disinfection method; the boiling is more thorough, but the chemical method will continue to keep the water safe when it's stored. Select a method:

  • Boiling: This kills most types of disease-causing organisms and is the most recommended purification technique. Boil the water for 1 full minute, then let it cool. Make sure it's a full, rolling boil. If you are more than one mile above sea level, boil for 3 minutes longer.
  • Disinfecting: Disinfecting with household bleach kills some, but not all, types of disease-causing organisms. The bleach must contain chlorine in order to work. Don't use scented bleaches, color-safe bleaches, or bleaches with added cleaners. Most household chlorine bleaches have 4-6 percent available chlorine, in which case add 1/8 teaspoon (8 drops) of regular, unscented, liquid household bleach for each gallon of water (2 drops per litre), stir it well and let it stand for 30 minutes before you use it. Check the label; if the percentage of available chlorine is around 1 percent, or you don't know what the percentage is, use 40 drops per gallon/ 10 drops per litre; if the percentage is 7-10 percent, use 4 drops per gallon or 1 drop per litre. Double the amount of chlorine if the water is cloudy, murky, or colored, or if the water is extremely cold. If, after sitting covered for 30 minutes, the water doesn't have a slight chlorine odor, repeat the dosage and let sit for another 15 minutes.
  • Granular calcium hypochlorite: This works in the same way as household bleach. You can dissolve one heaped teaspoon of high-test granular calcium hypochlorite (about 1/4 ounce) in two gallons of water (1 heaped teaspoon or 7g for every 7.5 litres or 1 gram for every litre of water) to make a disinfecting solution. Then add one part of the disinfecting solution to each 100 parts of water to purify.
  • Potassium permanganate (KMnO4): This can be used to disinfect water. It can be purchased from camping supply stores and pool treatment stores. The water should be colored slightly pink, 3 or 4 crystals in a quart or litre of water. Let the solution stand for at least 30 minutes. This is definitely an emergency measure only, and should not be used for planned leisure activities, such as hiking or camping.
  • Disinfecting with iodine: This is generally less effective than chlorine in controlling the parasite Giardia, but it's better than no treatment at all. Add 5 drops of 2 percent iodine (from the medicine chest or first aid kit) to every quart or litre of clear water; add 10 drops if the water is cloudy. Let the solution stand for at least 30 minutes.
  • Commercial tablets: For commercially prepared chlorine or iodine tablets, follow the instructions that come with them. If you don't have instructions, use one tablet for each quart or litre of water to be purified.
  • Solar Water Disinfection (SODIS) method: Pouring the water into clear plastic PET bottles, and exposing to direct sunlight for at least 6 hours has been shown to be an effective method of disinfecting
 5.  Be careful with the cap or lid of the container. If you're chemically disinfecting water in a canteen or other portable container with a screw-on cap, wait about five minutes after adding the purifying chemical(s), then partially unscrew the cap and shake the container so that some of the water sloshes on the inside of the cap and the threads of the container, then re-tighten the cap and let it sit for the remainder of the time specified above or in the instructions. Otherwise, there may still be contaminated water in the cap, on the outside of the container's neck, or on the threads.

6.  Improve the flavor of purified water, if needed. Boiled water can taste "flat", and disinfected water can have a strong chlorine taste. Aerate it by pouring it from one clean container to another several times. Alternatively, add a pinch of salt to each quart or litre of water. If the flavor is still unpleasant, use a powdered drink mix, if available.

7.  Take care when consuming. Once the water in a container has been purified, open and close the container carefully. Don't touch the inside or the rim with your fingers, or else the water could become contaminated.

  • If you're going to drink some, but not all of the water, don't drink directly from the container. Pour it into another container and drink from that. Contact with your lips and mouth can contaminate water that's going to be stored.
  • If you don't drink the water immediately, write the date on the bottle. Store it in a cool, dark place for up to six months.

One of the biggest problems during Katrina was lack of clean water to drink - but also to CLEAN HANDS, CLEAN DISHES/UTENSILS, small wounds maintain reasonable cleanliness for the situation - which has been proven to save lives, prevent spread of disease.  .

IT COSTS VERY LITTLE TO STOCK UP ON BLEACH AND DISHWASHING LIQUID - AND IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE.    COST ABOUT 99 CENTS AT DOLLAR GENERAL OR FAMILY DOLLAR STORE.

Also was told the chlorine you buy for swimming pools can be used on water and since it comes in fairly large concentrations, it would last a long time if necessary.

FOOD (I know you don't want to hear it)   RICE & BEANS can sustain you for a long time.  I have stocked up on canned vegs/fruits.  Told my grandson we'd mix vegs in the rice to make it less boring when he made a face (LOL).

One thing I never hear mentioned is JELLO - it's cheap when on sale, can be used to drink, can be used on sick patients who can't tolerate other foods, and can be a sweet break from rice & beans.

Dehydrated foods including milk.

ROTATE YOUR STORED FOOD PERIODICALLY!

Hope this helps you survive some day!

This would seem common sense  but be sure to have a CAN OPENER.  I've read about people in life-death situations using knives, forks, screwdrivers because they forgot to have a MANUAL CAN OPENER.

We're all spoiled to electric ones......

Eat people and animals hey ya gotta do what you ned to do right.....
