What's Your Plan Today?

Let me get this straight? Do you cross Atlantic brothers & sisters get drug tested for work???

Yes, but it seems like the higher your position or seniority (unless you are at the bottom of the totem aka easily replaceable) the less likely you are to be subjected to them. For example, a burger flipper might get randomed all the time while a senior executive never has much concern for them. With most things in this country, the poorest suffer the most. I've seen janitors fired for failing yet have never seen any middle manager or higher even tested aside from the mandatory hiring test.

I don't want to go into much detail about my job, but I have access to things that always put you at risk for a random test if they suspect something, things go missing, being a social retard, etc. Thing is: people who get into such positions are usually smart enough not to ask for one by doing stupid shit on the job. Also, a really accurate test for the past usage of stuff that doesn't stay in your system long costs good money and if you're good at your job (aka not easy to replace) they aren't going to risk losing you because you smoked a little herb on your time off.

Edit: Oh yeah, and if i ever got selected and told to take a very accurate, unbeatable test, I'd resign and move to another company relatively easy. Clearly, they want me gone if they are going through all that trouble anyway.

Yeah...lots of us do. I am a mid level exec. At one job with access to my companiesbank accounts. My other job i have access to the drug cabinet, so I really get that. With the larger companies it is very common at all levels.

An added note:the drug Nexium, which is an antacid (actually a proton pump i hibitor) makes you give a false positive in a urine analysis and a strand test. This is clearlymentioned on the Mayo clinic website. Saved my ass a couple of times.

And btw, Nexium is now sold over the counter here in the states.

That is some valuable info sister Cat! Especially strand test. Thanks!

Urine analysis are easy to beat anyway because you can often stall the date you're scheduled to take one.  I could do c0c41n3 off some hookers like the CEOs for weeks up to the day they tell me a testing date and stall my test for 1-2 weeks (to be extra safe) and come up clean. If they ever pull out some tweezers on me, I'd book it and resign though, but that costs money they'd rather keep.

Like I said before, the higher up you get the easier it becomes unless they really want you gone (aka hair test). I've been asked when I wanted to go take the test. Easy to make up a few family obligations and such BS to move it far out enough that you can abstain and win. Any disputed positive where I work would get sent in for GC/MS and use up your vacation time so you'd better have a good contingency plan because that shit is super accurate. The good thing about that is that some "research chemicals" will cause a positive but have different metabolites then the drug they are testing for in the lab and you might still get lucky, but I'd sweat fucking bullets if I popped for amps even with a RC. They can also measure ratios, so if you got a script for 4dd3r411, but take street sp33cl, they'll tell because you'll be somewhere closer to 1:1 ratio between stereoisomers than the 3:1 you should have with pure 4cldys. No doubt they'll also notice you're concentration of metabolites being abnormally high. Stay frosty of inquiry and stall as much as possible! Avoid weed if you're dangerously at risk. It's the most common way to get canned that I know of while some of the hardest drugs known are more difficult to catch.

That's crazy crackers!! I can understand the jobs where you might be responsible for controlled substances and associated environments... Even labour intensive jobs or operating dangerous machinery... But, just a normal job? What happened to 'fuck off, I'll do what I like on a weekend"?? ....

I thought our health & safety policies were fucked?!

No fun allowed. It's the American way and we'll spread freedom on your ass if you try to change our ways.

Today, I nearly fell over, as I was informed (finally), that I officially get the keys to my new house, on Friday!!

However, ever the optimist, I'm just waiting for something to fuck up before then! :-)

Yay for the new house! *happy dance*
Just think, though, of all the things that could happen between now and Friday! A tornado could touch down on it; a crazy ex could burn it down; thieves could break in and steal the copper pipes causing the whole thing to flood; it could get rezoned as a industrial area only; a pack of territorial chipmunks could move in and claim property rights.....

Hehe just kidding. Everything will be lovely!

HA! YOU R FUNNY WYLDEPIXIE GIRL...

I VOTE: "TERRITORIAL-CHIPMUNKS" THIER THE BEST 2 HAVE AROUND IN MY OPINION....NO THIEVES GET'N PAST THEM!

Congratulations! I know moving is ghastly but I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Let me know when the house - warming party is, I'll bring the wine.

My plan for the day is to get through it and hopefully (please oh please oh please) actually get some sleep tonight.

Cheers 2E,

Believe me, if I lived across the pond I'd have you all round... Imagine that, we wouldn't be short on the drugs front would we! :-)

Yeah but with all our combined social anxiety a meet and greet would probably require that many meds!

LOL Wyldepixie. I think I would actually have a lot less anxiety meeting fellow DBGers. At least we already have more in common than a random group of people. For the most part I think we are more compassionate and less judgmental, having a common bond. After all, we share the same struggles that most people wouldn't give a damn about. I think the most shocking part would be seeing what we all look like!

Yes, I often wonder what everybody looks like, I just hope that's not your real face? :-)

Of course that's him! Who would post a fake profile pic?! I am definitely tiny, blue, and have wings.

Come to think of it, my wings are very sore at the minute, plus I think I might have rabies!!!

  1. xenxra @ xenxra: @WTF7218 it may as well be that way with how little effort some of the people on here make to find information that's exactly where you would expect it to be.
  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  3. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.
  4. ontovzik @ ontovzik: He peed it in the snow in my backyard.
  5. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  6. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote
  11. P @ psychedpsych: Trump is cracking down….
  12. P @ psychedpsych: Hackers are the scum of the earth
  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
