Where do I ask about tanning ... (please read)

I know of many other people in my business who get inj tanning.  I've not looked around and asking them, I get the answer of "so and so is who you talk to".  Great! Except so and so never answers me.  Each female has bf's that use hgh etc, so it seems it's in those areas.

These women are happy but would NEVER admit to otherwise (it's too taboo to them).  Is it safe and if this is the wrong place, please be kind and just point me elsewhere or say "we don't have the answers".  I have a show for 2 weeks and my character requires a tan.  Due to a health condition I cannot use tanning bed (and refuse it), self tanning products take skill or to pay for airbrush  - which leaves you looking very funky as it washes off but stays in foliciles.

I figured this may be a great idea as body builders do use it too.

Thank you for reading

Its callled melantotan.   I have not seen it in awhile maybe if i checked when i have time ill let you know where.  If i remember right it just makes the skin darker when tanning.  You still have to tan.  Unless im thinking of something different its been a few years since ive read much on it.

ah ok :(  I am allergic to sunlight (seriously) and I do know a person that injects it - but I don't know what else she does to further the tan.  Thank you!!

Google it if i remember correctly it changes pigment of skin so when u tan u tan darker.  Its been around bodybuilding scene along time.  Ive never used it.  They could have something new but i believe what i said is what your reffering too

Melanotan II .Originally trialled for the military during the Iraq war 1990 to prevent troops from burning.

Has a lot of unwanted side effects can work depending on skin type. Can also cause permanent pigmentation changes.
Its not an approved drug and never has been. More an RC.

Remember that most of this shite comes from China where powders are not regulated or generally fit for human grade use.

This is interesting stuff! Who knew asking about tanning would lead to learning about reasons for invention/usages etc.  I have lupus and have not allowed sunlight to effect my skintone in over a decade.  I am a really pretty pale, it takes a few years to get that way because you look sick for awhile and than pasty.  I am also heavily tattooed and don't want to fade them.  They look brand new 12 years later because they've never had sunlight on them or a tan. I just wondered if I could avoid disgusting spray tans (the smell, the way it fades, how it stains sheets and lord help you if you sweat!), or risking anything to do with sunlight. To give an idea what it does to me (with spf 70 - that I wear daily) - within 15 mins in direct sunlight / with spf 70 / after 2pm: I swell red and it feels like I'm physically bruised to the bone. I burn and blister if I'm staying longer than that, which I found out a few years ago when my friends didn't want to leave just yet and only my feet were exposed for a half hour.

Using products that are sold to give you "a natural glow" for even pale - isn't for my pale. I look weird and sparkly orange. I was hoping for a miracle that didn't require photoshop or CGI for something I am doing soon. I just wanted "sun kissed glow" but it appears that is out of the window.

suggestions for stuff that would wash off same day and stay put under hot lights / makeup and not stain clothing would be great, if anyone has suggestions

Thank you all for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it.

Isnt it weird that you always want the opposite of what you are?
My gf was pale skinned and always attained to have some colour.

@SaintAlien I have Lupus (SLE) as well, along with RA, Sjogren's and Raynaud's. I was diagnosed at the end of last year at 30 years young after spending over a year and a half ignoring symptoms and doubting my own body (and mind for that matter). I absolutely LOVE the beach with the sound of the waves, the salty air and sun on my skin however now with having the SLE diagnosis explains why the Summer before being diagnosed every time I would go out in the sun, with sunscreen of course, I would break out horribly all over the exposed skin in welps and my skin would feel as though it was bruised all the way down to my muscles and depending on how long I stayed out would end up having a flare up of all symptoms within the days following. It was strange and frustrating to me as I grew up spending the summers at our beach place and had never had any issues up until then.

I have never heard of any inj for tanning (you learn something new everyday especially on here?). I have been using a product called Famous Daves for self tanning. It dries fast, so that it doesn't get all over your clothes or bedding at night and doesn't leave an orangish look to your skin. I do still venture out into the sun, just can't give up my beach place, but have found if I use a sunscreen with a very high SPF, broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection WITH helioplex (the helioplex seems to help A LOT) and apply if often along with hats to protect my face and we bring a big beach umbrella that I can still enjoy being there. It's just a lot more work involved now getting ready to go out into the sun, constantly reapplying protection, taking breaks in a shaded place (under the umbrella) and making sure to stay hydrated and not getting overheated. I'm not sure how long this will work for me, if symptoms get worse or as the disease progresses but for now I will enjoy it while I can!

@DBDBMIA. I feel for you. I have Crohn's/ and then was found to be c ANCA and p ANCA positive and was diagnosed over a 3 year period with Wegeners granulomatosis and this is treated in the U.K. by the rheumatology departments and we habe two highly specialised centres lf excellence in addenbrookes and London. I spend a lot of time if both and am now receiving cyclophosphamide (chemo) but at half the dose given for cancers but it's still harsh. I have been on prednisolone for over 9 years and have ostopenia due to this plus many more side effects. I know one of your diseases is also a vasculitis. If you ever want to talk by private message then please feel free. I have become a reluctant expert and habe found some great supplements that help to avoid the inflammation

Good luck and God speed x

Hi @trinity. I think we all look healthier when bronzed but we would probably never go in direct sun again, not without sunblokck, now knowing how ageing it is not to go into the fairly high risk of melanoma. I now can't go into the sun, at all, due to immunosuppressive drugs that make it deadly. I believe the substance in MELANIN that is naturally produced in our body but I do remember capsules being sold that didn't require tanning and Jordan AKA Katie Price uses them

There is no capsule available with Melanotan II.

Its nasal admin and subQ injections only.

I've used Melanotan. It was supposedly developed at Univ. of Ariz. to help prevent skin cancer. If it is usedcorrectly, it will allow one to develop a deep tan w/o burning..It also lasts a long time. I was in the hospital in 2013 after I retired for ascending cholangitis (sp).  I hadn't used Melanotan for at least a year.

The GI (who was of Indian heritage) suggested that I might have a condition called hemochromatosis. His comment was, "you're too dark for a white man" I told him I have a permanent "farmer's tan" from working at the local university for ten summer vacations. Thatis true but parts of my body that had never seen sunlight tanned w/o burning when I used it at a dose that worked.

Do your research, always, then do more.
