Heck, I would have been happy to get hooked up with a liberal doc, then made my own arrangements.  The whole "pill hysteria" thing has gotten SOOO far out of hand and it;s crippling (literally!) legit pain patients.
I hear you, it was tough. I finally found a local doc that will prescribe something. Not enough, but better than nothing. I was truly desperate when I signed up for this place. I think that First class care was one of the places listed. They said they had a doctor in my state, but ultimately, even after offering to travel far away, I ended up with nothing. Just a waste of my time, gathering and faxing records. My current doc came from a friends recommendation, I got lucky.

I used this service for 12-14 months a few years ago.  It worked well for a while, then slowly fell apart over a period of several months.  Toward the end (just like what 2e said above), I paid a couple months service charge and received nothing in return, no replies to phone calls, emails, NOTHING.  That sumbitch.  It still pisses me off to think about it, although it's been a few years ago.

I then when with another service for several months (Chronic Care Consultants).  Had to travel out of state several times to meet with their doctor's, but it was bleeding me dry.  Airfare, rental cars, hotels...it was just unmanageable.  I have had NO LUCK finding a good doc in my state.  HYSTERIA is definitely the correct word.  I've had 3 back surgeries, and a spinal chord stimulator implanted to no real effect and my doc's won't prescribe anything that is effective, that actually helps.  Just ridiculous.  It's almost laughable...almost.

SisterM; I could not agree more about the 'hysteria' comment.  It's so far out of hand that logic left the building along with Elvis.  The closest we can come to fixing it is by participating in this forum, and taking care of ourselves.

Completely OT, but I wish I knew you IRL--between pain issues & stuffed animals, we could have some cool conversations!  I'm sending you a PM of an article you might find interesting--perhaps it might be worth posting?

I've never heard of Chronic care, are they legit?  And yes, the hysteria is ludicrous.  I have a master's in statistics/game theory & could go on for hours about how the "pill hysteria" was created largely out of whole cloth.  A good book to read is Radley Balko's "Rise of the Warrior Cop" (it's on Kindle).  Talks a lot about the drug hysteria period & the pill hysteria as well.  Do some people abuse painkillers?  Of course.  LOTS more abuse alcohol.

Yeah, CCC was (maybe still is) legit.  I was pretty happy with them overall, just couldn't afford to keep it going.

I've pretty much decided I've got to move from my home-state to have any chance at finding a reasonable doctor.  Funny thing is that it's really not the Dr's fault here (aside from maybe betraying the hippocratic oath), since the state laws here are tougher than the Fed's when it comes to RX's.  People (law-makers in particular it seems) have just lost their f'ing minds on anything remotely related to RX med's.

Thanks for the tip.  I'm always looking for my next good book...although I'm afraid it may just get me further 'pissed' about the whole situation.

Again, we're OT, but the Drug War gets my blood up more than anything--I deal w. its victims every day.  Every day I get up and think, "Why do I do this? I can't fight a system gone mad."

"Reason is not automatic; those who do not possess it cannot be affected by it." Ayn Rand (don't like most of Rand's stuff. but that's a great quote.)

liked the post especially when you see that because doctors can't/are terrified by the DEA (pieces of shit with nothing to do ) to prescribe it becomes relegated to "the streets" to regulate/run the pharmaceutical/narcotic business and there's more dead and scammed and robbed and arrested everyday and more faked pills and yada yada I could keep going but you're right it makes me furious; despite my utter and complete disdain for Rand and anything she represents and said/wrote; a terrible human being in my opinion...the "war on drugs is a big money making system and political platform machine, and we quite know this very obviously"

Blade, in the forum  "All about fighting pain and pain medicines" you'll find an article I posted under the title "Interesting Article."   I think you might enjoy it.  And yes, I have nothing but contempt for Rand as well, but it's a great observation.

Would their be a way to start the pain diagnosis with these drs? So in a year I will reach requirement?

Or is that not a good way to do it?

Hi @georgiagirl, some of these threads you are replying to are quite old, the last post in this one is over a year old! It might be better for you to start a topic of your own or post in more recent and active threads.

Any other options for getting a legit script to get filled one time for norco? Is there an option  for an online consulting physician? I have no previous records that I can bring.

If I have records of doctors prescribing benzos for years. And prometh/codeine syrup for the past5 months do you think I will be able to get that as well without the hassle of going to the doctor every month

  1. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.
  3. ontovzik @ ontovzik: He peed it in the snow in my backyard.
  4. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  5. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  6. aBBazaBBa123 @ aBBazaBBa123: @rockychoc How do I contact you?
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote
  11. P @ psychedpsych: Trump is cracking down….
  12. P @ psychedpsych: Hackers are the scum of the earth
  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
