Your Hopes For The Afterlife

This is a question I often ask of new friends in real life, and their responses reveal quite a bit about themselves - mainly how they see themselves in this world and their level of curiosity. 

Personally, I hope to get the chance to explore another galaxy, another planet. There is so much space in this universe, it seems such a shame that we are trapped on this tiny little blue dot. My dreams are often myself as a formless "being" - I guess you could say soul, traversing through galaxies and taking in all the reactions and chaos that is occurring in every instance of what we know as time.

Don't get me wrong, I do not wish to die before it is my time to do so - I hope to fulfill myself as fully as possible before I pass on from this life - but I would be lying if I said I didn't wonder every day about what the next step in this journey is going to be.

Anyways, what do you hope for when you pass on from this life?

 
As far as what I don't want, any sort of continuation of this life and its feelings would be a big no no. I think if there is some sort of persisting consciousness, then it will reflect our current consciousness; that would be horrible for me, I just want peace!

So I think that the 'other side' is just void. A bit simple, I know, but everything starts and ends in void; every source of light burns out, and that's what I base my beliefs on. And that's a good thing for me, if it's true; an empty void, no consciousness no soul, it might not be peace but I think it's the closest thing any of us will get to it.

Interesting thread though, interested to hear other people's opinions.

 
Peace on Earth and a complete end to Religious and territorial conflicts which are causing so many terrible deaths around the world - especially within the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Asia.

Also the end of capitalistic greed and corruption, which ultimately continues to make the rich richer, and the poor poorer. A true Marxist society would be nice.

I'd also like to see the elimination of such dangerous hardcore drugs such as crack, heroin, etc.

@Headbanger, you are funny!  I'm very simple in that all I want is too be with my loved ones that have passed and my best friends, oh and all my sweet animals.

 
I've always liked the way Thornton Wilder put it in "Our Town":

Floating around each other and your loved ones as Pure light energy.

Protecting all the good people still left on this mortal coil...

Selective disposing of all the people abusing or hurting any one/race in any way?..

Or just a final answer as to the meaning of life?...

However, if I do end up starting all over again, I just hope there is no religion...

Cause all that shit does is divide us all. And we do that well enough, all by ourselves!

Oh, and there had better be cakes....Loads and loads of cakes!

If I get my own space I want bohemian, vintage industrial, French county shabby décor.  And I want lots and lots of drawers.

If there is an afterlife I would like to be reunited with my loved ones. I have no family on this earth and miss them terribly. My parents and grandparents and my first husband who was also my best friend. What could be more heavenly than seeing them all again?

Actually it has recently been revealed that there are virtually billions of earthly planets in the universe. For every star there is at least one, although there are exceptions. But anyway, I believe that it is utter nonsense to even entertain the notion that we are alone as organic living beings in the universe, and furthermore we are likely ancestors of the inhabitants of a planet of the past. Oh, and as to after death? We are energy, everything is energy, which only transforms but never dies. So if there is any purpose to our existence we are either reincarnated as humans, spirits, or something else that lives in some form.

 
if i could really have an afterlife, all id want is just a chance to spend it with the people i love the most, thats all. I dont care about a mansion in the sky or whatever else people think they get.

T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety,etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.

Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
