All I Really Want For Christmas....

All major current wants are obvious and sorely needed for many of us...but when it comes down to the root of it all, what is it that we/you/I/ any of us really are hoping for this holiday?

I want to be able to watch my daughter bubble with excitement on Christmas morning, I want all my friends and loved ones to be kept safe and out of harms way, I want to still have a job in January, (that mortgage isn't gonna pay itself) and I want to always be learning to be a more tolerant and understanding human, who is acutely aware of all the blessings I have in the midst of so much need.

I would love to have my entire family under the same roof celebrating Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together. Hasn't happened since 2009, the last time my son was able to make it home on leave. We were hoping that it would happen this year but doesn't look like it will be anytime in the foreseeable future. Facetime will just have to do although it isn't the same. Me, my daughter, and my wife will celebrate our Christmas. No extended family get togethers.
