Maybe he was playing the congas with my silly upstairs neighbor. :/
I kid you not, it sound like war! up there.  Im pretty sure they were not playing the congas, rather beating each other with them. /default_blink.png

Well I KNOW that's part of what's going on upstairs. Who does that?! Grumble grumble.

They became very popular with local PD.  Just before I sold (they played a roll in that decision) myself and the owners gave the owner of the rebels a ultimatum.  They got evicted.

Wood frame apartments are the worst. You can hear EVERYTHING. I would rather live in the gutter than in a wood framed building. Unfortunately leasing agents are not honest about sound quality, they just want to lease the apartment, you have to know what you are looking for, and ask questions. Especially, is there concrete between the floors. There should be five inches or more. A bomb could go off upstairs and you would not hear it. In this country, the apartment boom was in the late sixties/early seventies. That is when most apartments were built....pretty much all with wood frames. There are a few exceptions but mot many. They can remodel them, dress them up and they will look great. BUT when you move in, you can hear the neighbors urinating and everything else. Sometimes just walking can cause so much noise for the people downstairs that they cannot sleep. I would ALWAYS recommend talking to another tenant. Leasing agents lie through their teeth. I have seen SO many people's lives upended because of this. I have been the one to tell them I cannot let them out of their lease. Buildings built after 1984 ish are mostly going to be type 2b construction, which is concrete and steel. But you have to ask. Also, look at the ceilings...are they sheet rock or are there concrete seams? If there is a balcony, is the floor of it concrete or wood? If anyone needs help getting out of an apartment lease, contact me. I have quite a few tricks.

Agreed, they're depressing as shit at times also.
I think youre nightstalker/daywalker

back on topic apartments suck ass, my neighbors used to beat the shit out of each other and I could hear everything. Never again will I live in an apartment

people who call my phone 72 times in 3 hours. Its obvious Im not answering so quit fucking blowing me up! /default_angry.png  I hate when my phone dies and when I plug it in I realize it was due to excessive calling, makes me wait even longer to call back

Agree mm. I hate when people blow up my phone as if I don't know they're calling. It drives me nuts. I also take my time calling back. This happens quite often and I'm sick of it!

yea if they would just call one time and send one text Id call right back as soon as I could but twenty missed calls in a few hours makes me wait a day or three before I call back

What can you say MM... The lady's like those pistol grip ears you got there /default_biggrin.png

Kidding, kinda... Hope all is well in your camp.

Ironically, this very thing is happening right now. Some asshole broker I do business with has called 8 times in the past hour and won't leave a message, on a Sunday of all things. Just keeps calling back. That's going to buy him a spot on next Friday's call back list. Makes my blood boil. If it's an emergency, leave a damn message for God's sake, or text me. ONCE!

You guys are obviously not familiar with the 12 call rule?  On the 12th call you might be busy... But not before that!!

Oh, it's not 15? Are you sure? 15 calls in a half hour seems reasonable doesn't it? For a non-emergency situation.

Don't you wonder how many times these people would call in a true emergency situation? I shudder to think.

I could have some of my facts off, there is a first time for everything.  /default_tongue.png  But as we all know there is nothing more important than some fool call you over and over.

Most of the people that actually know me, know better. If they call twice and I dont answer they then send a text and if thats no good they stop. I also have this new thing called voicemail.

  4. ClintEastwood @ ClintEastwood: Robert Duvall and a handful of others were a younger actors coach and always said no one worked as hard as those guys did. Robert Duvall and rest would read the full script 228 over and over, then after the last read they would go into how to perform their character. The young man had made it to meet Al who are greats and pull them to the side. And explain what his coach said. They all looked back and said out of every role you’ve seen me in. I have read it 228 by myself. 🫡 🫢 🫢 🫢
  5. ClintEastwood @ ClintEastwood: Sorry for comment below, but I couldn’t delete. Know I see the

  10. Realbenzeyes @ Realbenzeyes: I always thought I should’ve been born in a much earlier time but I will say, i do enjoy my Xbox and occasional TV series tho 😂
  11. Realbenzeyes @ Realbenzeyes: I just wish the opioid epidemic never happened. Fk the turn of the century (which would be cool no doubt)! Many of my friends and family would’ve ended up in asylums like so many others. I just wish I could get back all those I’ve lost since the start
  12. L @ Layne_Cobain: 1914 I meant
  13. L @ Layne_Cobain: I often wish I lived during the turn of the century or at least before the Harrison narcotics act or whatever I think it was 1924 the fun ended but anyway yeh being able to get laudanum, ❄️ and amphetamine at the local friendly pharmacy
  14. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Chew on the leaves with a bit of slaked lime and enjoy the mild boost you get from the raw base.
  15. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I’m sure you know the folks in the mountainous regions along South Americas pacific side buy cócà leaves at the local farmers market just to help acclimate to the higher elevation when they have to head up into the hills.
  16. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I would certainly have bought it, swilled it, enjoyed it…. Why not? A little boost in your juice isn’t going to hurt anyone.
  17. R @ Royboy99: Exports were reported to have around 7.2mg per FL OZ, it’s success is what actually led to Coca Cola
  18. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Having cramps and husband thinks you’re acting hysterical (ie. PMS) the doc would either perform a certain massage to relieve the strains of motherhood and family life of that time or send you down to the local apothecary for a bottle of laudanum… A tincture of alcohol and 10% òpìųm. Fun days huh?
  19. R @ Royboy99: @malestrom: yeah thats it, my bad Mariani, yeah i considered that and also its ROA, which was oral so the bioavailability was lower than insufflation, higher degree of purity tho and longer duration … there was a significant marked increase of patents filed by Edison during the time it was released in the US. Presidents were known to use it as well, and the Queen. The pope awarded the wine the Vatican gold medal award
  20. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I think it was called vin Mariani. But yeah, it was all the rave back in the turn to the 20th century. Original formula Coca Cola did it for a while too. I think it was pretty weak though. Something like 200 mg per liter of wine. Enough to maybe give you a little push but unless you could pound some serious alcohol, it’d be hard to really feel the effects before the ethyl knocked you down on the ground. It was an interesting time period. Laudanum was a “hysterical” woman’s best friend.
