Find Out Who Prescribes In Your Area

I'm not surprised, I almost sent you a PM regarding this. How did you use it to your benefit? Did you just look for the highest prescribing pain doctor?

This is so awesome! Thank you Bjenkins, I found my APRN right away and just had some of my questions about her answered.

Basically, yes. I'm looking for a doctor who will be at the minimum willing to prescribe medication. Some seem like they won't at all. Now you don't have to guess. The full site allows you to search by the doctors prescribing the highest percentage of schedule 2 drugs. The top in my state had over 90% of patients on schedule 2s.

Will see if I can find someone in my area....fingers crossed.

Good luck! Use your desktop/ laptop for best results. I noticed the mobile version seems harder to navigate.

Thank you, I will try that. I was on my phone and felt like I was missing something.

Thanks so much for this particular topic. The website has a wealth of information. One of my local doctors has over 25,000 claims where everyone else averages between 1000 and 5000. Also this particular doctor $ is over a million whereas most are in the K's. Very useful info!

I was amazed to see a doctor in Tampa with over 90% of patients on schedule 2s. It is probably also a double edged sword. On one side you find a doctor willing to help with your pain issues and the other side maybe not so concerned with finding the underlying problem. I am using mine to get the help I need managing pain while getting the referrals to see the specialists who may be able to help me nail down my issues.

Well, I experienced my double edged sword yesterday. I went to my appointment at 2:00 and sat waiting to be seen until nearly 5:00. The doctor was more concerned with me being LE than addressing my issue. He did however finally write a script for nor co along with the referrals for xrays I need to get referrals for an mri. All in all I think I'll be looking for a new general practitioner, but this guy really is a pill dispenser if you have a good reason.

What did he do/say that made you think that he was worried you were LE?  And do you know if doctors have a maximum or a ceiling on the amount of sch. 2 they can prescribe?  I was thinking I would make my appt. with not the top prescriber but maybe the second or third.

He came into the room and his first questions were " What are you on, if I drug tested you right now what would I find? " He asked me why I showed up for a physical and then complained of pain. I haven't been to a doctor for so long I said I thought that was what we had to do first. I told him all I really wanted from him was a referral to get an MRI done. It wasn't until after I'd shown him the stretches i do each night to releive my sciatica that he seemed to change. He came back in with a pain assessment chart and paperwork asking if I was LE. He asked me to my face if I was LE.

I don't know about maximums in general but he did tell me he couldn't prescribe stronger than hi dro until I had my xrays and or MRI done. He gave me 35 for 11 days at which time I am to return with xrays in hand. He said walgreens would hassle me and sent me to a mom and pop pharmacy.

I truly want to get my back fixed, and I truly need some pain relief until then. I think he's just so inundated with junkies its his first reaction to suspect that I'm either a junkie or a cop.

Thank you MA I am also in Tampa and now drive over an hour to my Dr. for my prescription.  Hopefully now I can find someone in the neighborhood without wasting a lot of fruitless visits.

This is an amazing website! Thank you so much for sharing this with the community. I'm in the process of sourcing a different PM Doc and this is very valuable info!!

Thanks for the amazing link!  I am surprised at the results for my doc in Horseheads, NY. The whole place seems to give out a lot of scripts but the numbers were not nearly what I thought they would be.  Only 26% for this doc who mainly sees 65+.  I had no issue once he knew my condition, guess I got lucky.

I just wish I could find a doc in my area that would prescribe x@n@x without a hassle . Used to have several that I knew that would . Now all of them will not take new patience.
