God I love you guys. One of my local animal rescues had the little girl, a tiny terrier mix, that was held over open flames by some teenagers. Her whole little belly and private was burnt OFF...so much pain. We got her in from MO about six weeks ago. We were all over the sheriff about pressing charges. Unfortunately to no avail. The sheriff did try but people were not cooperating with him. After lots of pain meds and love and two skin grafts later, she is finally happy. Her name is Hazel Grace. Seeing her, and how she is now, and stories like hers, make me know that anything is possible when there is love. I could go on and on about many other stories cause we handle pets with very special needs. I dont want to skeeve anyone out more than I have with Hazel Graces' story.
My favorite are the before and after pics of all of the rescues. Especially the ones with the animals new "furever" home and parents! I have cried so many tears of joy after learning about their stories!
Eighteen MILLION adoptable pets were killed in the US in 2013 Twelve million in 2014. Hopefully this trend will continue and wew can get it down to ZERO. Most state or local "pounds" use gas to euthanize pets. This is inhumane. If your state still uses gas, write a letter to your rep. It can only help!
