2016 NBA CHAMPS

right on points ealrls and Melth.  That was funny 2earls.  Could you get that TV going please?, could you get that TV going please? . . . . did I ask you about that TV?.  Didn't bet but would've also bet on five.  Would've been chicken to bet on last night.  That was a good faith fan bet, putting your money where your hope is.  Next game belongs to anyone.  GS will have the sixth man with them, and I think that might make the difference.  Westbrook took a few more mid range shots last night, trying to make up for Durant maybe, instead of his "I'm a meteoroid and you are thin air" game.  His intensity may be the  most on either team.  Westbrook/Green would make a good MMA fight  if Russell had a few more pounds on him, ha.  Nerves will play a part in Monday's game, more than the previous 6.

All right!  Glad for the rain of Steph when it counts.  Damn tough opposition.  GS has put out feelers for Durant; if they can get him, maybe room for one more dynasty.  But they would be charged two good big men for him, so I'm not sold on the idea.  If they could get Boguts to run some tires, just tweak that step a bit . . . heck, he already looks like Vlade anyway.

Now time to face the big guy.  La Bron maybe on the downhill side of his career, but you'd never know it by watching him.  He's like Westbrook, just seems to be no stopping him.  GS will have to rely on the superstar, team GS.  Speights blows my mind.  He always seems to be smiling.

So looking forward to what should be a knock down, drag out.

In my spectator career, I had one chance to cash in.  I'm an alum of a scrappy little school called Fresno State.  Their claim, from football, was that they would play anyone, anywhere.  Usually they got their butts kicked, ha.  But they had a baseball season which they had to win elimination to get in, then one after another single elimination to stay.  Could've made a million bucks on that one, as they eventually won the championship.

But this will be Goliath versus Goliath.  Looking forward to it, as I'm sure gutsy bettors like Melth, and 2earls are.  Let her rip.

Now I only wish I had bet more! We were late driving home, so decided to stop at a casino on the way home. It was packed with GS fans, so turned out to be a lot of fun. That series couldn't have been better for a Warriors fan. It was much more satisfying than crushing them in 4 games.

Let's hope we get another great series with the Cavs. Haha I never made the look-alike connection with Vlade another Andrew (I think that's his first name). If the Warriors win another championship, I don't want them them to change a thing!

Golden state Warriors win game one. Can the Cavs win game 2 on the road? They better come up with a better game plan. I don't think this will be a sweep. I think lebron Is too good to be swept. Especially, with teammates like Irving and Kevin Love. Warriors look like the better team though.

Agreed Melth, on all points.  GS may be the best "team" to go down in the record books.  Steph and Klay had sub par games.  I winnie the poo who feels the duo will stay down for long.

SG/GS

Feeling confident. With our stars not shining and still dominating, I have to wonder if the Cavs are up to this. Not taking anything for granted, but I don't believe the splash brothers are going to be silenced that easily.

I'm definitely not going to get as good odds on the next bet. Will have to look at something more creative than a straight win bet.

Amazing how deep they are... Says alot when you win the 1st game without your two best players playing well. You know they will show up Sunday after a down game. Good start for them

@2earls straight bet is not that good considering you would prob have to put about $270 to win $100. I took warriors -5 1/2 on game 1. They are now -6 1/2 for game 2 last I checked.

I bet big on game 1 Because historically road teams with more than 4 days rest don't do well to start a series. I'm not sure what I will do for game 2. Splash Bros were quiet for game 1 and still won. So I'm leaning that way.

Anyways, it has been a great season. Looking forward to the rest.

The commentators were hard pressed to find a way the Cavs might win with Love out.  I hope I don't have to hear "concussion protocol" too many more times.  I think it was Melth who made the comment about the toughness differences in the conferences.  When GS wins the next, then there, I think, will be a single-game bet on game 4.  Should be good odds if you put a buck on the Cavs then.

Next year will be interesting.  No one that old on GS.  Maybe room for one more dynasty, cept OKC will be up to try and prevent that.

The drama of the US Open is coming I think.  The most anguish infused sport on TV.

SG/GS

I'm busy routing for the Sharks. They need more help than the Warriors. Hope this series isn't a complete snoozefest. Can the Cavs show signs of life at home? I hope so.

Some of my inlaws attended game 2. One is a 5 year old and I was green with envy, because I was in town and would have been thrilled to go.

Yeah, my uncle took me to see Sandy Koufax pitch when I was 7 or 8.  Sandy set a record that day, don't know which one.  Always a privilege to see one of the greats in any sport first hand, or to just attend a big league game of any kind.

SG--GS wins this year.

Game 3 today in Cleveland. Golden State has DOMINATED thus far. It seems foolish to bet against them at this point but even though the Cavs have looked clueless so far, I am going to place a small wager on them. Not big. Small.

I have to guess that they will come out desperate and the Warriors will be not so worried about one loss. I believe the Warriors have lost game 3 of EACH of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds of the playoffs this year. I look for trends and psychological factors.

The only reason I'm not betting big is because the Cavs body language scares me. We will see what happens.

You got any stock tips Melth?  I'm looking at 4th quarter start.  Good small bet on your part.  One, I dunno?  Two, when does the MVP show up?  Afraid to go to casino, because three-card poker would kill me.  I have no idea, and bow to your instincts and stats.  Good job.

All I know, shooting comes and goes.  Still picking GS.  Only thing I can claim is idea of inability to pick at this level.  You're the man.

@SheratonGibson

I have been doing well of late. Especially, NBA.

I have a philosophy when it comes to NBA. 30 point loss is the same as 1 point loss. They are one game. Average fan over reacts. Therefore, Las Vegas knows this. So they set there line according. Remember, Vegas ALWAYS wins. So when you see the Cavs as a 1 point favorite after getting hammered  for 2 games. You know that they know the Cavs are going to win. Because the majority of bettors were betting on the Warriors.  So they won. Except, I went the opposite and bet Cavs. :)  And of course the psychological factor that I explained.

It's experience. Trust me I lost many before.

Good and bold move @Meltheangel. Congratulations! What's with all the blowouts?

I'm still feeling confidant and even happy to face some resistance. Makes it more interesting.

@2earls. I don't know what is going on with all these blowoblowouts. And yes you should still feel good about the Warriors chances. Remember that Cleveland lost 2 road games against the Raptors. So I don't see them winning at Golden State. Game 4 should be interesting. I don't know what to think yet. Did this loss wake up the Warriors? Or do they think they can turn it on anytime they want? Will Cleveland play with the same intensity? We shall see.

Game 4 coming up. Should be good. I think there has been many blow outs due to the many 3 pointers taken. One team hot and the other is cold= blowout. Tonight I am staying away from picking winner I can see both but the trend is home team. But I will bet big on the Under 207

:)

It was a good game, all the way.  The defense of GS is maybe better than their offense, it that's possible.  It killed the Cavs as much as anything.  Steph had his 30+ game.  Cavs stunk at the line.  Coulda, shoulda, wooda.  LeBron had a good game.  Should he be looking for shots more?  Don't know.  GS defense has something to do with that.

A few teams have come back from 3-1 in playoff games.  No team has come back from 3-1 in championship series.  Stats like that are formidable.  Some team, some day will change that.  I don't think it will be this year with the Cavs.  GS is 39-2 for the year at home.  But, for betting (Melth you say), this might be the one to put a buck on the Cavs.  Should be some good odds.

But, mainly, looks over for this year.  GS is just too good a team.  It's been a great ride with fights with several teams.  LeBron and someone almost had an argument at the end.  Man, LeBron would be the last guy in the NBA I would bump chests with.  Saw Steph stepping up close on that moment, and kept thinking, just run away Steph.

Thanks to all who have followed this with me.  Makes it more fun.  Not a hockey guy, so will be looking to the U.S. open for my next participation.  Really, really, got to put my blinders on, go to the casino, and put some bets on that one.  Just have to get past those tables, ha.

later, SG

So D. Green is suspended for game 5. I'm reading a lot of blame on LeBron James and some to Green. GS fans say that LJ started the altercation and secondly there was no contact. Both true. However, in my opinion Green is a knuckle head. How did he not see this coming. LJ egged him on. Hook line and sinker. Idiot in my mind.

Green was already skating on thin ice for previous incidents and the fact that he did not connect does not matter! Green has been criticized by many for flailing his legs or kicking if you ask me. He needs to stop. And this is coming from someone who is rooting against LeBron James.

The problem is that Green acts innocent and has stated that he won't change because it is not intentional and it is all in"normal" play. BS!! Does he think the public is stupid. Who the hell  kicks people in the nuts in basketball. Lol

Ok sorry enough already. I hope and believe GS will still win the series but GS fans should be angry at him not the leauge. He should have been carefull. It's the finals for Pete's sake. Your teammates are counting on you!

So much for heartfelt adios to my basketball buds.  I did say earlier, in my own defense, is that LeBron doesn't play like his age.  41 points.  Irving picks up where Westbrook left off, with some to spare.  51%  shooting for GS I think I heard.  What's the line now Melth?  Again my only claim to insight is that shooting comes and goes, but it can come and to at its own pace,  otherwise we could have figured how make long-term weather forecasts by now, ha.

So, who do you pick for the next?  GS simply has to pick up shooting.  LeBron was hitting mid range and long range, higher percentage than expected.  Cavs will be back in house.   Still gotta get two in a row from one of the best teams in history.  They needed Green, but as Melth points out, he didn't have the smarts to keep LeBron from baiting him.

LeBron and Irving will have to do it again.  Curry will need another sub par MVP game (so far, except for that one overtime, he just looks like a good player).

The fat lady maybe losing her voice.  It's hard to believe it might give out with one of the best statistical teams in history.

All on your time of course.
  11. CalFresh @ CalFresh: thanks guys. I'm pulling together what I have left and leaning on the kindness of folks who support me to restock my shelves so that I can keep the lights on.
