2016 NBA CHAMPS

Ok, so the Cavs win game 5 on the road. I took the +7. I did so because GS was over confident and LJ was pissed. Guess what? They poked him and he woke up. Now let's see if he is satisfied. Also, Kerr is going to have to look curry in the eyes and challenge him to step up. Otherwise, we will have a game 7! Right now I am leaning towards picking Cavs -2 1/2 points.

I truly believe the NBA wants a game 7. A lot of money will be made and money talks.

So will there be a game 7??? I am truly back and forth on this one. As much as I want to believe in the conspiracy theory that the NBA wants to force a game 7, Only  2 teams in the past 50 yrs have forced a 7th game after trailing 3-1. It should be good.

Home court has been huge in the 2016 playoffs, especially for the Cavs. However, I don't underestimate the Warriors. If they feel desperate and start hitting 3's anything can happen. So I'm laying off the spread and betting on the Under 207 1/2.

Low scoring game please! :)

I don't care about the score, only the outcome. I bet during the game last Warriors win which brought the odds up a little and also on Dodgers over Giants and won that too. I was lucky they closed the sportsbook early when I collected, or I would have ruined my winning streak.

I'm not buying into the conspiracy theories.

There will be a game 7! Wow. No conspiracy here just getting out played. @2earls. I personally don't believe that there is a conspiracy but I would not be shocked if there was. Let's not forget about Tim Donaghy scandal and the fact that there are Millions of dollars on the line. However, what's done is done. I would like to hear from Warrior fans. How are you going to feel about D. Green if you lose this series? I don't want to harp on it but I have read many comments (not on this forum) of fans dismissing his actions. But that was when they were up 3-1. I said it at the time he woke a sleeping giant and it is a big mistake to underestimate LJ. He is a monster. Anyways, I home GS wins. But you Warrior fans must stop making excuses for this guy. He single handedly changed the momentum of this series in a negative way.

It will be hard to win in California.  But.. Cleveland as far as I remember hasn't ever won anything.  I read maybe 100 years ago when they had 8 MLB teams they won a World Series.  No Super Bowls.. Pulling for the Cavs in game 7 I guess  :-)

@Meltheangel I'm not one of those fans. I think losing D Green and Bogut in game 5 was a huge impact. Then last night Igoudala could not play. Like I said earlier in this thread, I don't like any changes when things are working great.

I think Bogut is undervalued and if he's not playing in game 7, the Cavs may finally win something. I'm a little peeved on the last 2 fouls on Curry. If anything makes me wonder, it's the officiating.

@2earls I totally agree with the fact that Bogut and Green being out is a huge factor. That's why I hated the fact that Green got into it with LJ. You don't want to give a Super star Xtra motivation. Before the suspension LJ and the Cavs were hanging their heads. Now they have their chest out. Big difference.

I just think Green let all the accolades get to his head. Not his fault. I mean he was being compared to Magic Johnson. I would compare him more to a Dennis Rodman with all his antics. Steve Kerr has done a great job but should have put Green on check before the suspension. People say Phil Jackson is over rated but he was the only coach that could control Rodman post Detroit Pistons.

Anyways I will root for GS bc Michael Thompson is on the team

My ESPN app just posted that the highest non-suite tickets sold on Stubhub for $49,500. Each! Why didn't I invest in season tickets back when you could barely give Warriors tickets away? Well, because I was routing for the Lakers. Only went to games when the Lakers came to crush them.

I'd love to go, but I don't think I can sell my house fast enough.

Cavs in a walkover.  GS will continue 50% shooting.  Klay Thompson's streak will end.  Curry will keep chewing his mouthpiece.  Draymond will get tossed.

LeBron will put all his has into this one.  Tyree will continue his own imitation of Westbrook.  GS will fight hard, miss, fall behind, and eventually lose heart.

What they had all went into their record-setting season.

LeBron will get series MVP, and the Cavs will become the first team in a championship series to come back and win from 3-1.

Best effort, this time, wins, maybe not best team.  LeBron will make an argument he is maybe the best forward in NBA history.

SG--wouldn't mind being wrong

I hope you are wrong as well. Just wish that bone headed Green kept his composure.

We will see!

Here we go guys.  History will be made one way or the other.  Either the team with the best regular season record in history will win, or the Cavs will make another new history.  What a game!  Got my beer and . . . well, I got my beer.

Wow!!! What an ending. I must say LeBron is a monster. But didn't we already know that? Green had a monster game. Respect. BUT too little too late. He gave the Cavs life. LeBron egged him on and he bit! Changed the momentum of the series. Also, I forgot to mention klay Thompson did not help by talking trash about LJ when he said LeBron's feelings were hurt. I really think they poked the bear once too many times and payed. The Cavs were hanging there head. I do think when you challenge a players manhood you will get a reaction. And this reaction was lebron going off!

Anyways, what a year!!!

Great game!!!  Cleveland  finally got it's championship  :-)     Congrats Cavs fans  :-)

Man, didn't go as I saw it--predictions are just for fun, the more overstated the more fun.  Both teams had heart, and mainly played smart.  This was Frazier/Ali at their best.  I don't think LeBron has another year like this one in him--but that's just another prediction.  He's put his name right up there with the best at forward in NBA history.

Predictions aside:  OKC, GS, Cavs, any of the three could've won the championship.  If either Curry or Klay could've had a big game, the result would simply have gone the other way.  Seemed like LeBron didn't know which game he was making at first, driving, then looking to pass, not much shooting as he's been so good at lately.   But, a triple double will always do.

Thanks to those who followed and contributed, esp 2Earls and Melth.  Made it fun.

best, SG

@SheratonGibson the pleasure was all mine. And don't forget LeBron is only 31 yrs old I believe. Therefore he should still have at least 3 years of great basketball in him. I just think his motivation isn't as high as it should. It seemed at times he was satisfied with the championships he already had. That's why I cringed when the Warriors started talking smack about his feelings being hurt and what not. I do believe it made him want it more after that. Anyways, can't wait till next year. Or NFL for that matter! I do watch MLB but it doesn't get interesting until playoffs.

Slurp slurp. That's the sound of me liking my wounds. I'm down for the next major sports season thread. I'm going to have to catch up on my Dodgers now. Really haven't been paying attention with the Sharks and GS going so far, only to come up short.

Thanks for starting this thread @Meltheangel. I know SG and I enjoyed it.
