Alcohol

It's rare for someone to get sober the 1st time they try, but the more times you try the more likely you are to get there. If you made it 8 days, you can make it a little longer next time. Don't give up.

 
Thanks for the encouragement BM.  I quit for the first time a year ago and have a couple of 90 days stints under my belt, along with a handful of shorter ones like recently.  I know I can do it, and that I have to, but do I really want to?  (I think someone here asked that rhetorically early on in this thread.  It's been bugging me lately.)

 
Well I can understand that feeling that you need to hit bottom as they say so the positives of drinking are outweighed by the negatives but it can be hard to really see the negatives of continued use like what it does to your health or your family. No one can make that decision but you & I know how difficult it can be. When I got sober I had bedn thrown out of school & was facing some legal consequences as well but even then I only expected to stop for a year or so.

The big near-half-pound slab of Hersheys Symphony bar with the BLUE label is hands down the best mainstream chocolate bar in America. You folks over across the pond kill it with Cadbury’s and I won’t deny it’s the best but those damn blue symphonies have me hooked.
