Yes, that's my understanding as well. Speaking only for myself, I find I'm settling into a routine of red phone=real info, paper=alter ego, and I alternate my methodology, mainly to keep off MG's radar for frequent flyers. I know some DBGers would never use their real info, and their reasons are sound -- it's something only the individual can decide. I'm more concerned w/ losing a big chunk of change for a dumb reason (getting the receiver's name wrong, fer instance!) than I am about getting popped. For once, my age and small stature tend to work in my favor, as do my ethnicity & the outward signs of my socioeconomic status -- in the eyes of LE, I'm a pretty unlikely suspect; plus, most of 'em really don't want to haul Granny off to the hoosegow.

Having said that, watch me attract the attention of some blue boy who always hated his grandmother...wouldn't that be swell...
Thats funny.  Good info on MG.  Hopefully there will be a better and secure way to make transactions in the near future.

I'm too chicken to try MG online -- think you are one of a very few able to make it work  /default_smile.png I've gotten over my fear of the red phone but like paper best of all, 'cause then I'M in charge of all spelling & name placement.
MG online has worked very well for me, all online all with real name. Never an issue. No more then once per week and no more then $520 or so each transfer.

The "reason" is never for goods or services, always check NO.

In the message field a "Hello Xxxxxx, say hi to everyone for me" or "Hi Xxxxx, hope the family is well" doesn't hurt.

I don't plan to try MG onsite unless I get banned from MG under my current name, then it will be onside with a different name or I'll go to the bank transfer option I know is available. Actually I should ask to go to the bank transfer method now so I can do larger orders with no worry of the transfer being blocked.

I always quadruple check my name spelling and details before I submit an online MG transfer, a stupid mistake on my part with a name is my biggest concern.

I have not tried WU since a transfer was denied either by my CC company or WU, the denial was instant and no money was ever sent on that one and no message from WU telling me I was banned ever came. Think it was my CC that denied the charge and not WU denying the transfer. I have used a different CC for all MG.

Never use American Express, they watch and verify everything. My weed guys even dropped taking AE due to denials, and AE called me to verify a green purchase while the guy was still here as we were wondering why the AE was denied.

Is it best to alert your cc company in advance of making the MG transaction just they don't immediately deny it?

(sorry to get off topic mods / AY)

Is anyone having trouble getting hold of A?  I placed a first order, he was AWESOME, I sent him another several emails with no replies.  I did ask if he could discount but, still, should reply.

Hey ML, this is based on nothing but gut feeling and general info from other threads (all SY-related) but it sounds like holiday overload is affecting both vendors and transportation methods. From what I understand, after reading older posts from DBG veterans, this kind of crunch at this time of year is not at all unusual.

He replied to my query very quickly yesterday, but that was just a request for a price list, which I received very quickly.

Best!

Just ordered from A. He said he would email me back when funds were picked up and I would get my order tomorrow, cross your fingers for me!! I will update the board ASAP!

so is AY not a part of the regular SY guys? how can he ship today for receipt tomorrow when all others are MAYBE "Friday or Monday"?

FG

He did not mention any issues so we will see! I REALLY hope he comes through! I will update board asap when I hear more.

Antonio is the Man. No issues at their side, I am expecting a parcel Friday morning.

This is not easy, I had a hell of a time paying. MoneyGram sucks!

Best!

Online would not let me send the amount in questions without bank authorization. Got that done then they left out recipients last name.

All sorted now, but I have a real job, this has been distracting.

Best!

Has anyone heard from Antonio? I sent an email yesterday. No reply. Just wondering.

Yep, I talked to him several times yesterday over a 4-5 hour period. I'd send a follow up email today if you don't hear from him after noon eastern.

Thx. He will prob follow up soon. I find him easy to work with and despite a bit of language issue, prompt and reliable.

Hmmmm. sent email this morning and got fast reply. However he says its to late to ship today and its possible I might ship on Fri. Not sure what to make of that. Maybe he is getting overloaded or having the same problems as other SYs.

I mailed him yesterday with a question and he answered today about an hour ago. Didn't indicate a problem with shipping.

He's "newer".  Might have slightly different channel availability or was under the radar of recent events.  But if that is the case, with all regular channels seeming shut down or promising Friday, he likely became an instant back up to people who were shut out of their primary.  Just an opinion.  S-

  20. LW815 @ LW815: @Mycawesome gotta be proactive(aka fiscally irresponsible[borderline retarded]) and way overstock the library. While the preferred genre may not always be in stock always sure to have sub-genres or at the very least another genre to stay entertained while awaiting the next edition of the favorites.
