Sorry @chilly willy, but they are right, @Natty, and @screamingmimi, have more or less ran this thread, it has helped me too, I got into Bitcoins around the same time, I'd get reading mate!
Hopefully coinbase will not ban you if you were purchasing something that they deemed inappropriate. They did that to me...@Natty I just paid $15 for fees on $100 order. That's huge. I have it set on dynamic. I know you use electrum. How do you determine fees which are based on the size of the transaction and not how much money
I also sent @PTFC that obey to an email. They have to claim it which means setting up Coinbase which they won't. So unless I can get Coinbase to reverse it, after 30 days if it's not claimed it comes back to me. The vendor will not set up Coinbase Acct. He told me blockchain wallet is cheap but I'd like a discussion on how much to pay in fees. How do you know how big the block is you send. Or is it satoshis. It would have been cheaper to just pay.
I did circle after the coinbase incident, which was awesome; was free. Now I use gocelery for coin. Maybe not the best option, but works for me. Customer service is great btw.@Natty Yes me and several others were discussing this the other day in another thread and since coinbase is an exchange they are insanely strict.
I just buy on coinbase and transfer to electrum or another wallet then send to receiver to avoid the risk & headache!
I am hoping there will be another good exchange pop up soon.
What exchange are you using now if you don't mind me asking or did you get another coinbase acct??
I am sure it is the leftover amount I had from an order, I then didn't open multibit for around 8 months and when I did, I had to update, It was originally 16 USD but now risen to 40. I can deal with not seeing it again, my last transaction was a receive of funds, went through fine, sitting pretty and almost doubled in value. I'm also not comfortable messing with source code, so I think i'll write it off. I'm not sure where to go next, Electrum isn't exactly user friendly by the sound of things either. Decisions, decisions!@PTFC I'm not sure if it's included but I don't think so because I emptied my wallet and got rid of that. I saw all the fixes and none worked for me and I'm not comfortable dealing with source code. There was one fix where you open breadwallet and do something with that.
My question for you is, is there some transaction going on now that is jammed up in the blockchain or something else that is causing issues? Oh and someone else said install an old version of multibit. I did tht but it did nothing.
I never got an answer from them, I even filed a complaint with a place here that oversees business practices but I never heard back. IF you have a pending transaction try figuring that out. If something is stuck in the block chain acclerate it using this. https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
You need the tx ID and acceleate it right at the top of the hour since it can only do 100 an hour.
Some people said they kept repairing their wallet but that never helped me. I also read make another wallet and move the money there but I couldn't figure that out.
Good luck and goodbuy multibit
I wish I could help you with that question. I'm unfamiliar with the multibit HD wallet  , and have had no trouble with electrums wallet.I tried repairing my multibit HD wallet for the small amount, around 40 USD, but it was still unconfirmed. @Natty, @screamingmimi, is this unconfirmed amount that I know is unusable included in my full wallet funds shown on the left? I've searched around and there are another couple of fixes to try, but they involve receiving your wallet, by changing a big long number in your pc files. It's really irritating, especially after an update not long ago.
@PTFC Just got this from Multibit. I told him 3 weeks for a solution is unacceptable and I am no longer using their wallet. I did try the breadwallet thing but it didn't work.
First, I want to apologize that our handling of your support request hasn't been timely. KeepKey, the company that provides free support to Multibit users, is going through some restructuring. We are currently dealing with all the communication and operational challenges that comes along with that. I can't go into the all of the details now, but there will be some announcements soon.
Now to help you solve your issue:
A known bug in Multibit is causing the error you are experiencing. Your funds remain safe and recoverable.
Please recover your wallet with using Breadwallet or Simple Bitcoin wallet. They are both mobile wallets that work great with Multibit wallet word recovery. Breadwallet (https://breadwallet.com/) is available on App store and simple bitcoin wallet (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.btcontract.wallet&hl=en) is for Android.
We are currently working on other solutions for this issue and will advise when this is available.

I wish people would not use acronyms like LBC. It is like talking in code. On the free dictionary, there were 60 definitions of LBC. None were related to Bitcoin. Acronym is defined by the Free dictionary as an abbreviated code rarely or never yielding meaning. And I couldn't find any info on local bitcoins.Yes.. LBC= Local Bitcoins
I am sorry to hear about your experience with multibit. I have heard a lot of nightmare stories with the exchanges and sites like that. I hope everything works out for you.
@Def_Starr I understand Bitcoin can definitely be confusing at 1st but there is a ton of info out there about bitcoin, bitcoin wallets, bitcoin exchanges, and other cryptocurrencies and there are a lot of great people on those forums that will help you out too!what is the easiest and simplest btc buying and sending website out there:/ this btc still confuses the shit out of me
BTC is just another way to pay and has nothing to do with WU or moneoygram. My understanding is many CC co dont' want to work with these vendors.. It's up to the vendor to decide how he wants you to pay. All of them can be a pain but you gotta do what you gotta do. A friend of mine just had a nightmare with WU, I never had a problem. Just make sure wth WU and MG you have the exact name and info. And with BTC pay using the BTC amount vs. USD. I did that once and it was not fun.lol i did open a coinbase account and still confused me, certain people can take pymt via wu/mg/ its like each one has their own preferred method to pymt to sell you bitcoin, and the requirements some ask for the sale is like wtf ! i guess i am stubborn still to accept it
