Live and learn kiddies.   I paid for an item using electrum.  $15 in fees but confirmed immediately.   I wanted to replace the money so went to transfer from coinbase.   I pasted the wallet address in but apparently it didn't copy and instead I pasted the vendors email address so I sent him more money, like  $100.  Now I'm screwed unless he gives me a refund.   Think the guy is legit, 2nd purchase and it's obvious what happened but i don't know why it didn't copy my new wallet from electrum and pasted the email.

Note to self.  Don't buy when you're half asleep.

@Natty  I just paid $15 for fees on $100 order.  That's huge. I have it set on dynamic. I know you use electrum. How do you determine fees which are based on the size of the transaction and not how much money

I also sent @PTFC that obey to an email.  They have to claim it which means setting up Coinbase which they won't. So unless I can get Coinbase to reverse it, after 30 days if it's not claimed it comes back to me.  The vendor will not set up Coinbase Acct.   He told me blockchain wallet  is cheap but I'd like a discussion on how much to pay in fees.   How do you know how big the block is you send. Or is it satoshis.  It would have been cheaper to just pay.

Hopefully coinbase will not ban you if you were purchasing something that they deemed inappropriate. They did that to me...

@Natty  Yes me and several others were discussing this the other day in another thread and since coinbase is an exchange they are insanely strict.

I just buy on coinbase and transfer to electrum or another wallet then send to receiver to avoid the risk & headache!

I am hoping there will be another good exchange pop up soon.

What exchange are you using now if you don't mind me asking or did you get another coinbase acct??

I did circle after the coinbase incident, which was awesome; was free. :) Now I use gocelery for coin. Maybe not the best option, but works for me. Customer service is great btw.

I tried repairing my multibit HD wallet for the small amount, around 40 USD, but it was still unconfirmed. @Natty, @screamingmimi, is this unconfirmed amount that I know is unusable included in my full wallet funds shown on the left?  I've searched around and there are another couple of fixes to try, but they involve receiving your wallet, by changing a big long number in your pc files. It's really irritating, especially after an update not long ago.

@PTFC  I'm not sure if it's included but I don't think so because I emptied my wallet and got rid of that.   I saw all the fixes and none worked for me and I'm not comfortable dealing with source code.   There was one fix where you open breadwallet and do something with that.

My question for you is, is there some transaction going on now that is jammed up in the blockchain or something else that is causing issues?    Oh and someone else said install an old version of multibit.  I did tht but it did nothing.

I never got an answer from them, I even filed a complaint with a place here that oversees business practices but I never heard back.   IF you have a pending transaction try figuring that out.   If something is stuck in the block chain acclerate it using this. https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

You need the tx ID and acceleate it right at the top of the hour since it can only do 100 an hour.

Some people said they kept repairing their wallet but that never helped me.  I also read make another wallet and move the money there but I couldn't figure that out.

Good luck  and goodbuy multibit

I am sure it is the leftover amount I had from an order, I then didn't open multibit for around 8 months and when I did, I had to update, It was originally 16 USD but now risen to 40. I can deal with not seeing it again, my last transaction was a receive of funds, went through fine, sitting pretty and almost doubled in value. I'm also not comfortable messing with source code, so I think i'll write it off. I'm not sure where to go next, Electrum isn't exactly user friendly by the sound of things either. Decisions, decisions!

@PTFC  Just got this from Multibit.  I told him 3 weeks for a solution is unacceptable and I am no longer using their wallet.  I did try the breadwallet thing but it didn't work.

First, I want to apologize that our handling of your support request hasn't been timely. KeepKey, the company that provides free support to Multibit users, is going through some restructuring. We are currently dealing with all the communication and operational challenges that comes along with that. I can't go into the all of the details now, but there will be some announcements soon.

Now to help you solve your issue:

A known bug in Multibit is causing the error you are experiencing. Your funds remain safe and recoverable.

Please recover your wallet with using Breadwallet or Simple Bitcoin wallet. They are both mobile wallets that work great with Multibit wallet word recovery. Breadwallet (https://breadwallet.com/) is available on App store and simple bitcoin wallet (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.btcontract.wallet&hl=en) is for Android.

We are currently working on other solutions for this issue and will advise when this is available.

I wish I could help you with that question. I'm unfamiliar with the multibit HD wallet  , and have had no trouble with electrums wallet.

Got to btc forums. Lots of smart people and from what I was told igt's a bug but they're not bothering to tell anyone.   Good cust. service.

My multibit is on my laptop, and I have to download an android wallet to recover the unconfirmed amount? I'll look into this though, thanks! Update soon I expect.

Yes.. LBC= Local Bitcoins :)

I am sorry to hear about your experience with multibit.  I have heard a lot of nightmare stories with the exchanges and sites like that.  I hope everything works out for you.
I wish people would not use acronyms like LBC. It is like talking in code. On the free dictionary, there were 60 definitions of LBC. None were related to Bitcoin. Acronym is defined by the Free dictionary as an abbreviated code rarely or never yielding meaning. And I couldn't find any info on local bitcoins.

what is the easiest and simplest btc buying and sending website out there:/ this btc still confuses the shit out of me

@Def_Starr  I understand Bitcoin can definitely be confusing at 1st but there is a ton of info out there about bitcoin, bitcoin wallets, bitcoin exchanges, and other cryptocurrencies and there are a lot of great people on those forums that will help you out too!

The easiest way to get started in my opinion is open a Coinbase account and then find a second wallet like Electrum, both are Free to open.

The reason you want to do it this way is because Coinbase is an exchange and they are very strict about sending to certain places and will ban you without any warning, so if you have a second wallet like Electrum you can always use Coinbase to buy your bitcoin > then send to 2nd wallet (Electrum or others) > then send to your recipient and this will give you an extra level of security and will keep you from getting banned from Coinbase in the event you pay for something Coinbase doesn't like.

For cashing out Bitcoin into cash you can use Bitpay and if you use google you can find some other services too.

I hope this helps you out some and if you need anymore help with anything Bitcoin related let me know and I will be glad to help you!

Have A Great Weekend!!

BIG DREW

BTC is just another way to pay and has nothing to do with WU or moneoygram.   My understanding is many CC co dont' want to work with these vendors..   It's up to the vendor to decide how he wants you to pay.  All of them can be a pain but you gotta do what you gotta do.  A friend of mine just had a nightmare with WU, I never had a problem.  Just make sure wth WU and MG you have the exact name and info.   And with BTC pay using the BTC amount vs. USD.  I did that once and it was not fun.

IMO, this is the way of the future and as long as you know how to send you're ok.   You keep your money in a wallet?  BTC is in a wallet.   That's it.

  1. st1ckyf1ng4z @ st1ckyf1ng4z: @MrFuszy broo big dawg chill out on posting shit like that on here you’re gonna catch a ban or even worse. be mindful of mentioning others’ names as well. be smarter
  2. L @ Layne_Cobain: @maoi thanks for the input tho I think I’d def go the route of using hcg if I do go w TrT
  3. L @ Layne_Cobain: @maoi nah no fear of needles and if it made me feel a lot better no fear of being on it long term as who knows if my t will even rebound after 5 years on methadone not sure if that’s the norm I hope so…the more I research the more it seems like the best choice is to just go for it with TrT rather than trying to “middle” with Enclomiphene especially now that i know it probably won’t work being on methadone altho I am tapering off 5 mg biweekly so that’ll take a while I’m at 95 now from 120
  4. moai @ moai: @Layne_Cobain the longer you’re on it without using HCG sometimes, (meaning years) the harder it will be to rebound if you do come off. But I’m with you, at only 22, I’ve abused myself to the point I may NEED trt. Not to mention all of the benefits
  5. moai @ moai: @Layne_Cobain You don’t seem it, but if you are the type that’s afraid of needles for life, don’t sweat it. I’m natty atm, but from what I hear A) you won’t want to come off and B) if you implement HCG every once in a while to your protocol, you have a better chance of being able to come off T completely and restore all (or most) of your natty production. Of course, no guarantees and it is dependent on the individual, genetics, compounds and duration of exposure, etc.
  6. L @ Layne_Cobain: @tiquanunderwood when you began the Enclomiphene, were you already off opiates? Cause after further research I don’t think it’ll even work while still on methadone…I think trt with hcg to preserve fertility and ball size is the way to go for me. I just wanna feel better. Thanks for your input on the matter btw
