Buying Bitcoins safe and cheap from USA

Any current advice for 2023?
I started using XMR but I have noticed not many vendors here accept it. XMR had smaller fees and it is a lot more anonymous.
When I have to send BTC I always get hit hard with fees. Trying to find a better place to purchase from with smaller fees.
Unfortunately, BTC is pretty much the gold standard in this world. Some vendors accept other random coins from time to time (saw one that took ETH, another that took ADA, one that took LTC), but generally speaking you're gonna need BTC to do any kind of business. It's the one common denominator across the board.

Gonna spend around $15 loading up $1000 on Coinbase. And then you're gonna spend another $5 on each transaction.

Just cost of doing business I guess. I don't mind the tx fees. They're not too bad (it's not like it was back in the C19 boom where it would cost $20 minimum to send anything). I just hate the tax loading up funds.

I get why Binance US had to go. But why on earth did Coinbase shut down Coinbase Pro? Well, I know why. It's cause it was cheaper. All peer to peer transactions with minimal loading fees (like $5 per $1,000 loaded).

Unfortunately I can not buy cryptocurrency that requires KYC (ID specifically) anymore. It used to be simple, a click of a button, but I would rather be anonymous anyway now. I know the localbitcion/monero sites where you can send cash. Would you guys say that is the ONLY way now to get crypto without verifying KYC?

has anyone tried Changelly or Trust Wallet, (mobile apps) and how secure are they? I’ve gone the Cash App route and it’s annoying to say the least AND they force you to deposit cash (they did me before I could “Purchase BTC”) and the funds just disappeared, their support is abysmal and when I’ve used them for transfers the fees are through the roof and end up ripping off the vendor I’ve used AND myself. I am looking for a secure way to transfer funds without getting ripped off again.

Its hard,

Its hard, I dont entirely agree with this KYC especially just for a quick BTC payment,. I though the whole process with crypto was supposed to be discreet quick & easy. 🤷‍♂️

Well, I did the xmr to btc thing. It wasn't the worst thing in the world but not for small amounts imo
