Do you tell your better half about this?

I'm in the same boat. We've been married for 21 years, and there are just certain things I don't share. My online "vitamin" purchases is one of them. I even opened a second bank account, that I only have access to. I am careful about what I order. I'm already on a lot of vitamins, prescribed by my "vitamin" MD. So if I happen to have a package intercepted by the hubby, I'll just say, "They were cheaper this way!" and "They were having a sale!" He likes sales, and knows that my insurance co. won't  pay for certain "vitamin combinations" and dosages. Well, the extra supply....we won't discuss that. I really hope I don't ever have the occasion to go there though. I kind of like things the way they are. Me, perfectly and secretly content on my mail ordered happy pills.

We have been married 20 years and together before that.  My husband knows I take alot of vitamins, but he doesn't ask about cost of anything and I don't tell him.  Since we are both retired our income is very low, so I have to really watch any purchases.  I make sure that if I do make a purchase just for me, I take it out of something else.  I won't lie to him, but it isn't worth a big fight to bring it out in the open

I keep it on the QT as id be worried she'd ask me to make orders for her.She is prescribed medications allready in low doses and I know she'd self medicate in large amounts so better to keep things quiet justnow anyway.

Peace

Bliss....

So glad this topic came about. I've often wondered the same. I can't tell my spouse. He'd go off the deep end! However, I started to feel really guilty about the habit, and found a new vendor offering Kr@tom. I've been using that for a few days without ANY of my vitamins to get off of them. I have to say that it works, just missing my sleep for the past few nights. Not terrible though. I told him about that one product and order. He was fine because it was cheap and a legal product.

My husband knows about my purchases and my job. I think he gets a little jealous of the time I spend here, but he doesn't make a fuss about it. I don't go out of my way to tell him how much I spend and he probably doesn't really want to know.

Like another member stated earlier, as long as the bills are paid and he isn't footing the bill, then I am a big girl and should be able to decide for myself if it's worth the cost.

I think if I started acting peculiar or it was evident that I took too much, then he would certainly have the right to complain about that.

@cassandra73 that sounds awfully drastic if you have an otherwise happy marriage. Have you tried having a discussion at a time when he's not angry to explain your feelings about the matter?

I remember the last time my husband made a disparaging remark about my meds, we were going for a walk along the river and I said "but you do realize that if I didn't take them we would not be doing this right now?".

Tell him you are not being reckless or irresponsible; you are taking them to be more productive. And maybe also explain that the worst thing that could happen is you get a letter from customs that you just throw in the garbage bag. You have to win him over so that even if he never exactly approves, he won't be angry.

I know, tell him they make you feel very sexy towards him lol (sorry guys). If I could get my husband to believe that he would be ordering them for me!

Our partners worry about us, I don't want to give mine more to worry about.

I am my prescription drugs and off this site I top them up. I have have only just joined this this and am waiting for my packages. I am going to say they are diet pills, he will worry about them enough as it is.  I'm  not overweight want to lose a few pounds. That is all true.

They don't need to know everything and anything, sometimes it's better to be quiet.

"But I do love him. He's just- not easy to live with, but neither am i according to him"

I always thought the perfect marriage/relationship would be to live in 2 houses next door or even across town and just hang out once in a while, but not every day.  You take care of your house and I take care of mine :)

I don't talk to my wife about it & she doesn't ask. I feel a little guilty about the money, but mainly because I should be saving it for my daughter, but I justify it since she spends tons on clothes and various Amazon junk, some of which just gets thrown out. And I still manage to put a good amount aside for my daughter.

I always told my soon to be ex-wife after the fact because I couldn't carry the lie.

"So, M, we have to have a talk. I ordered a PCP analog online and took a massive dose, left my body, and shared the body of a dying patient, (I'm in healthcare) for several hours.
Or
"Hey I have to tell you, I took a dose of K before going to my sensory depravation tank appointment.

While there I believed my body was obliterated by an on coming train and I grieved for you and the kids and the attendant for having to clean up the mess.
I believed I was floating in a soup of my own blood until benevolent disembodied hands lowered into the tank and reassembled me."

We had many conversations like that because she really didn't want to know but also didn't want to be lied to. Do my solution was to save her the worried anticipation and tell her after.

Anyway 21 years of marriage we are amicably & mutually parting ways, remaining friends.

I am taking a long break from chems except a select few I keep around for emergency resets, brutal exams (nursing school) and sleep aids which I use sparingly.

Divorce after building an extensive history, is brutal, even when mutual, even as friends. Its hard not to order something I can just disappear into for a while but I know it will only further ruin trust and make everything worse. I think I am at the point now where I need to let myself feel it all and dee what's on the other side.

Life is a veil of tears.

I can only imagine how difficult this chapter must be. I hope you're able to give yourself the same grace and patience that you've shown in your reflection. Wishing you strength and healing

Sadly I cannot share this part of my life with my favorite person… I wish I could, but I feel like part of what makes him so great is that he has very, very high standards for himself, and for me as well… he knows I get scripts, but doesn’t know I have fun with them and doesn’t know what comes in the mail—I’m very … crafty, per-say, when it comes to timing my packages, and excuses for whats coming in the mail… using has never been a question—he just thinks I get sick sometimes bc I do have chronic illness’ which works out nice or just like “girl shit” he accepts as reality… I hate it but I’m so closeted, with everyone. I only have like… maybe 1 friend at the most, across the country, who knows what I do when no ones looking.

Sometimes I wish I could be more transparent about all of this, but he would never be ok with it. I usually order my package when I order my tampons—girl shit he doesn’t even wanna think about.

Plausible deniability and tbh u just have to know you audience. If ur spouse is the type to rumenate on something and grows into something out of hand vs. Them stumbling across something.
Either way it still makes them feel the same as if you stepped out on them.
"Am I not good enough?" "Why do you need this to be with me?"
For myself i felt it was right thing to do for both of us. Call it selfish or call it cautious

I’ve told him about my issues with stuff in the past… drugs and whatever—but I know if he caught me in the act he would be disappointed in the least, at worst… idk probably leave but i dont like thinking about it. If something ever happens with my package and whatnot im denying the shit out of all of it. Not mine—I have a lot of haters and enemies who i’d straight up just blame no matter what. I gotta plan. Yeah I feel bad about it—but we all have deep secrets we don’t share, mines just that I like pills a lot. I’m sure he’s got something he’ll never tell me too, and I accept that. Maybe its selfish, we all are to an extent. I’m the sweetest girl hes ever met and I know that as a rock solid FACT, so…. I call it cautious…
