I don't think I would ever have the nerve to bargin for anything. Not even when buying a car. The seller says what he or she want, and I pay up. Ha ha. Not even in countries on vacation where it is the norm to "argue" about the price can I do it Hopeless case, I know it.
I don't think there should ve a problem with asking for a reduction in price especially if it's a bigger order. If you have history with a vendor all they can say is unfortunately that's the price but when I've asked ive been offered a reduction.I wouldn't with all sources btw only my "trusted" source when the order was larger.
I typically don't negotiate prices with SY vendors. I try to keep an outstanding relationship which on occasion gets me upgraded shipping or some freebies.
I use the same philosophy with thing like mu high end audio. I purposely pay retail because I want to be taken care of during and after the sale.
I have done it one time only because the amount of this particular subscription was substantially high. The vendor (who shall remain nameless) agreed and I ended up saving around $400. It was a one time thing though,
I have negotiated before, when I was in the middle of my addictions!!! I didn't have much Dough so I asked for cheaper price, just though you keep the bartering low enough! Most will deal with you. You need to be very polite and ask nicely.

Thanks @MGAJB6122. I think for future reference, everyone should get in the habit of using the “report” button found on the bottom left of the top comment in threads like the ones mentioned in order to flag threads like this. I’d imagine it’s easier on @Admin than having to check the shout box every day or so.
