District Spelling Bee Champ here...Lost the 7th grade spelling bee with this word...
Papilionaceous - "having the form of a butterfly"
Ouch. Hugs!District Spelling Bee Champ here...
Lost at Regionals...for "laid".
Talk about anticlimactic, and horrible for a 6th graders dating future.
I even attempted to salvage the loss by asking that they read it in another sentence.
Hated and have avoided usage of the word at all costs ever since.

I won the school spelling bee in 5th grade and made it to the County spelling bee. Went out on my second word, "Colossal". I can't stand that word to this day, and still google it before typing it (like I did just now) just to be sure. /default_huh.pngDistrict Spelling Bee Champ here...
