Hey guys. As all have prolly seen, This chick is in major pain since the doctor has stopped my meds. I have a couple bottles of n3urotien laying around n I have read so much about it helping others... Thought maybe id give it a go again to see if it would help. I took 600mg 2 hours ago and the pain is still here. Any insight on how much a person should take to actually feel it? Any info is appreciated it.

Don't you have to take it awhile for it to build up in your system before you can tell if it helps?

 
also- it takes like 2 hours to actually kick in.  even 300mg gave me very noticeable side effects. did it ever kick in, or not? try increasing your dosage if nothing ever happened. i hear even super high dosages are not harmful, so there's no chance of OD. it may take time of regular usage to actually help pain, but if you're in withdrawal or need some help with sleep- you should feel the effects in 2-3 hours.

 
Thanks for the reply cherry. But no I never felt anything nor did it take any pain away! And that was at 600mg.

When my mom was prescribed it I think they started low and upped the dose each day till she felt relief. I could be wrong on that but I do remember that after about 3 days she felt so sluggish that she stopped taking it. It didnt really help that much for her most of her pains. She has a severe spinal stenosis and compression fractures from osteoporosis. Her spine is a mess. On the flip side, she said her rheumatoid arthritis didnt bother her at all for those few days. Whether thats from the med or just random, who knows. 

Does anyone know how the dosing for this stuff works? Like start at 100 or 300 or what? How much can you take in a day? Would it be taken the same way for pain and for withdrawl? I'm thinking in the withdrawl situation, it could help with RLS and the skin crawlies.

Okay, I guess I guess I could look it up on rx list thing but I'd rather hear from someone who's taken it.

I read it's perfect for withdrawal but people was taking 1,200 mg up... Maybe somebody will reply back with insight.

Okay, I woke up this morning in utter pain. Decided if give this GABA 1 more shot. Took 900mg at 10:00 am. I'll report later if it helps ect

Update#1: it's been a hour since taking 900mg. Same back pain & not feeling any mood Change or anything.

Update#2:11:20 took another 300mg. Making dosage 1,200 mg lets see if this other works.

Like I said, I have no knowledge on dosing with this med but 1200mg seems like a lot!  I hope it works at least a little for you!

I have read its 1200-1600 for it to work for WD, please do update as you feel it or not.

I have box with me and have been tapering the past 20 days (120mg/day to 60mg/day the last 6 days).

The taper is not that bad but I wondered if the GABA would help.

Hang in there as you WD, don't let your brain make you anxious or take a val for that, it helps.

 
UPDATE:: 30 minutes after that last dose. I was 100% BUZZED. When it hit me let me tell ya it was strong. I have never in the 10 years on opiates ever felt a "buzz" that strong. I'm still feeling it but not like earlier. & IT TOOK lots of my pains way!!! It's still there but dulled. I'm sitting here still buzzing real strong. So, 1,200 mg done the job.

 
I'm glad you finally got some relief......the maxiumum dose for Neurontin is pretty high, look it up.

 
Yes, I did earlier & WOW! Some are doing 4,000 mg!!! Also read that tolerance goes up after a couple times using it. That part sucks...

Update:: all effects are gone now but it did last several hours.. I'm sure if I had took anther or two I'd still be "feeling it" but on a good note back pain still dulled!

Great News!

I am very glad it worked for you and gave you some relief, and that you know you can use that when the WD gets to be too much.

Your experience has been what I read, that it's not working until around 1200 and then it hits really hard.

I read the effectiveness goes down after about a week of use, but a larger dose still helps.

Don't use it too long, it is also addictive.

I have read that it is almost impossible to OD on GABA.

I'm at 30mg ox only today and it's 4pm!! 3 weeks ago I would have had 70mg by now. I still have another 30mg to use for the jimmy legs and headaches but as I taper if a step seems to much I will for sure use my GABA now before I have an extra bit of bean.

If I didn't have to work this week, I might stay at 30mg today and take GABA soon and for the next few days to step down to 30mg/day since it sounds like it works well.

Keep hanging in there and I am glad you found something that helps and let's you relax a bit as you go thru this.

No problem!! I'm glad my post helped ya. I'm hopeful it can help others whom are in the same situation. Good luck bro, I got faith in ya. It's so hard but use the GABA if the going gets tough. Shew, you have no idea how much it helped me today.

 
Just wanted to warn everyone. This drug can have strange effects on your mind.

I have a lot of experience with all kinds of meds but when I took this, I was so out of it I lit my kitchen on fire.

Of course everyone has different reactions but just be mindful that there is the possibility of "spacing out".
