I found their refund/reship and insurance policies, odd, too. It made me leery of even ordering from them at first. Esp that the insurance only covers you if a large group of people lose their package same day as you. That's because they don't use any tracking system to eliminate scammers from getting package and making a claim anyway.
The only reason I can think of for their policy is TT a while back told me in an email that UK (and some of other European countries) very tough customs......while most of time US Customs not as much of a danger. So, most people in USA who pay insurance, usually never collect on it (while if insurance was sold in Europe, it might have to pay out there much more often). Of course it's a profit making venture - all insurance is or there wouldn't be insurance companies.
I place small orders from them instead of buying insurance on a large order. I guess I have a little bit of a gambler somewhere in my blood.
Their prices and quality is too good for me to pass up. Also, they are prompt in responding to questions, customer service.
I hate the slow response time of some vendors.

As for the "disappearing" charge - I had that happen to me, it's discussed farther back in this thread (before tt became tt2). The pre-auth disappeared completely from my account and didn't re-appear for sev days. But it returned.
Someone said once they have that pre-auth # they can come back whenever to collect the money; they said it has to do with international transactions & changing from dollars to their nation's currency at the going rate for that moment - so you may see few dollars difference between what "your tt cart" said and what you are actually charged. (usually $1-3 difference). If still confused go further back in this thread and you'll see where I asked same question you did. Your package is still on the way, even tho the charge is dropping off & doing weird things.
