Makes You Smile...

Being with the lady that I'm closes too but can never be with ever again  and at the same instant  being faraway from her makes me smile.

Knowing you are surrounded by good people that protect you, listen and love you for what and who you are (no matter how fucked up sometimes!) and knowing that they also know beyond any doubt, that you would do the same for them.... Quite a long-winded way of putting it, but that makes me smile :-)

Possible spoilers for the move "Cool Hand Luke"

The fight scene where Luke is getting beat down and after a few big knockdowns even the other prisoners are telling him to just stay down, but he keeps getting back up until everyone, even his opponent, walks off. He refuses to submit.

That display always brings a smile to my face. I mean, that's life beating on all of us. Do we get up or just lay down?

I also like to imagine a spiteful Giles Corey when he yells "more weight" before being pressed to death during the Salem witch trials. Such a rare quality in people that I can't help but smirk when I hear/see accounts of it especially because the chance to display such strength comes at us every moment and we can all be like them. When I'm afraid to act, or worrying about the future, or cutting corners, or wondering what people think, I remember guys like these and realize this is nothing but a chance to display real virtue. Life ain't nothing but a series of adversities that leads to a hole in the ground, but it's more satisfying to put up a fight.

I can smile to that.

What made me smile today is that my husband and I went out for brunch at a place I have been wanting to try (a French restaurant).  It was a car ride of about 20 miles each way from home.  It was very charming, and the food was terrific.  They even had live music! I can't wait to go back. /default_smile.png

  5. CalFresh @ CalFresh: Thanks everyone. My family and I are safe ATM. @mellowella thank you, but they cleaned me out. the shelves are empty but I'm hoping to call in some favors to restock ASAP. @xenxra I will reach out to set up a secure comms channel for us. Thanks again all. Yesterday was tough, but the support I've received from those I can share is with has been a Godsend.
  6. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: Mad love to you and your family @CalFresh
  7. xenxra @ xenxra: @CalFresh if you are able to DM me (in a secure manner) the transactions associated with your btc theft, i can look into that part for you at least. i;m still 99% certain if the fbi didn't discard my leads they could have gotten some of my coins back and considering you had your coins stolen within the us, you have a much better chance of recovery than me. unless they went through mixers i could probably trace them myself.
  8. O @ Outsider9173: @CalFresh Haven't been here long but I want to wish you a fast recovery

  14. mellowella @ mellowella: @CalFresh are you and your family safe? You’ve helped me in a pinch and were more than generous, and I’m sure you’ve helped others. How can we help you? Does it help at all if we completely buy out what’s left? Maybe that gives time and funds to restock and rebuild? I don’t want to break any rules here, but please let us know if we can do anything. All on your time of course.
  15. CalFresh @ CalFresh: thanks guys. I'm pulling together what I have left and leaning on the kindness of folks who support me to restock my shelves so that I can keep the lights on. Having my savings drained and my security vanish in an instant is paralyzing and the repercussions will only be realized in the coming days and weeks. for now I'm just trying to stay focused on the immediate priorities for ensuring this doesn't. cause cataclysmic failure to the life I've built for my children and I.
  16. H @ hotdog45: @CalFresh hey man if I can do anything, anything at all to help you get back on your feet let me know. Truly my heart goes out to you. I sent you an email also
