Meprobamate Vs Carisoprodol Vs Zanaflex

I miss the good ole days when soma was not even considered a narcotic. Do a prescribed them generously. Now a hard thing to find if you don't want to spend a fortune/

Before the Indian FDA/Postal bs there were some vendors selling them for 50 cents or less. Right now all but one has tightened up and stopped doing business for right now. The one I do know requires large orders and the price increased a lot. Along with the increase came really long shipping times too. /default_sad.png

I am currently prescribed flexeril and quiet honestly it does not help me at all. Still in the process of getting an MRI, as x-rays showed significant degeneration of the spine with nerves coming out on both sides. I've tried Neurontin to no avail either. I used to take the S one years ago and it knocked me out cold. My dr. is unwilling to prescribe them, so I will have to wait to get the MRI done and results in so I can see a neurologist.

Flex knocked me out cold but my ex enjoyed them, goes to show how different products have varying effects on people. Mepr0b@m@te is pretty much the same as s0m@ without the couple of hours of fun it gives many people. By fun I mean loopy, jelly but only when taken over Rx dosages. You said your Dr won't Rx them anyway so I guess the only alternative is skel@xin or val. Many people prefer vals and it is indicated in use as a muscle relaxant (indicated meaning it falls under the Rx guidelines). Theres also b@clofen, which just makes me seem drunk and staggering without any joy. One of them, which I haven't mentioned because I forgot the name, actually made my back ache. Ironically it was prescribed "Every 8 hours for back pain", so it worked liked the label said. Every 8 hours and my back or kidneys, whatever it was, would hurt like hell. You don't seem to have many options left.

M3thoc@rbamal is the one that made me hurt. Even my friends complained of lower back pain when taking them.

Pita;

Yes, I found an IOP I can afford for the val. Not sure if it will work, as I have taken them once or twice in the past (10's) and felt nothing. But then again, I have really high anxiety to begin with, so that may have mitigated it's benefits. Do you think K's or X's will work better for muscle relaxing?

I don't think so, afaik they are not indicated for Rx as a MR. You can try of course, but without falling in the Rx guidelines you won't get an actual paper from any Dr. You would have to do the research my friend, but I'm pretty sure only V's are the exception.

Best of luck, P

Thanks! I will go ahead and order the V. I am also going to try kratom. Just received some today, but I'm not in pain today, so I will try it tomorrow

Without zanaflex I'm not sure i would be Able to sleep during the night. Helps so much but can only take during night coz makes me sleep.

Interesting thread on the much discussed issue of s0ma vs mepr0bamate - it seems that most prefer the s0ma but mepr0bamate has been around a very long time (even before the first benzo hit the market in the 50's or 60's I believe). But it's also once again an example of how everybody reacts differently to different meds, and what works for one person might not work so well for the next.

If taken too long (more than a week)zanaflex makes me super depressed. I didn't know this when I first took it but was getting like crazy, frequent depression until I put 2 and 2 together. Did some reaseach and it does others the same way. It's sitting in my cabinet collecting dust.

One problem I have with Soma is the nasty, bitchy hangover I get from those things.

You mean - as in sleepiness/irritability?  Or do you actually get nauseated, headache, etc?

Sewma has been in my life about 15 years, and I will say that if I over-indulged, or even moderately indulge (i.e, if I were to take 2 or more at one time) , there MUST BE sleep afterwards, no caffeine/food/whatever can jump me out of that one.

Does anyone know whether taking an aspirin one hour prior to dosing with carisoprodol can help it metabolize into meprobamate?

I used to take 2+ s0maz a night and wake up a tired, raging bitch.

Never experienced side-effects with Soma....just a quick, heavy sleep induced state that cannot be broken with Love's first kiss!!

I haven't looked into it but with the body doing the metabolizing I doubt it would make a difference. If you don't like sewmah just buy the mepro from TTM. At least it seems pretty good, while their sewmah is usually far from the best that can be found. If you still have my (High Tide) email addy send me a message and I may be able to help you. I'm kinda confused as to whether you are looking for a source or something, and if so which one. If you do email me send a PM reminding me to look for it, I forget which email account we used to use.

Thanks Bama!

I sent you a friend request six months ago...glad you finally figured out who that DBG "Bloom" friend was on your list! It's nice to hear from you, old friend. I hope you've been good to yourself! The kitties - now cats, are doing fine. I've had one hell of a year, though. You can read about it in some of the threads in the "relationships" forum.

Soma actually works great for me - I had just read an interesting article about aspirin's ability to metabolize soma into metrobamate and found it interesting. With so much knowledge here at DBG, I thought I'd float the topic for our fellow chemists and pharmacologists to learn if it were true.

I'll send you a PM later...I need to brave the after Christmas sales for a few more gifts....

Been a very sad few days but 2 complete (irl anyway) strangers cared enough about what I was going through to talk to me about it, though they owe me nothing and have no reason to help my personal pain other than the kindness in their own hearts. Just shows that this place is a real community, not just a forum of people who only care about themselves.
  13. LW815 @ LW815: Was nodding in/out the entire time writing those shouts and spparently was fully out sending the last one lol. But II find it ‘uplifting’ as two people I’ve never actually met and only know the others online presence through subscriptions, who I have a better chance of getting a handy J from Jesus Christ himself, both were so quick to share their own experience and wise words and assurances that things will look up and not to feel guilty or be mad at somebody for going that route - as you never

  18. LW815 @ LW815: They didn’t need to. They could have just continued on with the nature or the main purpose of what the relationship between us is, I didn’t really have anybody else to let it out to at the time and they both went far beyond what I’d expect. Not that I’d assumed they’re cold/A-holes - it was just a lot from somebody who’s technically a competent stranger. A very close friend of mine committed suicide on Father’s Day and iwas emotionally wrecked witih nobody to talk to, and the first author just
  19. LW815 @ LW815: @Mokachin0 not really uplifting in the normal sense, but two popular authors on here took the time out of their likely very busy days to not only read my massive walls of text, but both also replied with the most kind, thoughtful and positive responses when I randomly dumped my personal problems into their laps
